fine on the face, not so fine in the pics

i did my make-up today and was planning on posting in fotd so i took a couple pics and none of them turned out. it appeared as if i had used a bright white eyeshadow :| (i used shroom, jest and satin taupe)

does anyone know why this happens and how it can be avoided?

Yeah i'd agree with Charmaine. The flash probably caused the problem. Hope you get it sorted so you can post some pics
