My mom has always done this in a pinch.

Mix one part sugar with 3 parts water in a spray bottle. It makes a really firm hairspray.

Does the glaze attract bees, or does effect go away when it dries? Does it form sugar crystals sometimes?

I was also wondering about the interaction with wildlife. Would we a sugar based hairspray in Yellowstone???

I was going to say something about bugs too. I live in Florida. I could see the knats whirling around my head. Might be worth it if I was going to be inside. Great idea though.

I would never think of that but it would work..I know a few guys who have used glue for gel...like the old school Elmers glue..can only imagine how bad that could flake though !
