I was thinking of heading to Hawaii this December, but doing some research it's also the rainy month. Any girls here from hawaii who can tell me about the weather in December? I don't mind an occation shower, I just don't want an all rainy holiday. Also if it's raining will it be raining on the other side of the island. Oh yeah, want to go to honolulu.

Thanks

Rainy month? The rain is always very localized in Hawaii, but if you tried really hard everyday, you could find a place that it's raining.

I wouldn't worry about that though. I kinda like it when it rains over there though (depends where you are). It's a nice kind of precipitation, sometimes you get mists and rainbows, it's cool. It's gonna be right around 80 F degrees or a tad lower everyday, and then maybe for the low it might dip down to like 60 F degrees, but usually no lower than that. Jeans and long sleeve T-shirt will be all you need to stay warm in the evenings.

Hope that helps.

I've gone the last week of May and it can be a real scorcher. Well maybe 90 or so, but the sun is powerful, and you can burn easily. I'm thinking maybe I can enjoy being outdoors a bit more without the UV intensity. Yes, I know it will still be intense, but not as bad.

My fav thing to do is lay out on the beach. Thats what makes rain a bit of concern to me.

Now I just need to feel ok about spending the money. Yeah, like that will happen. I'm out of work the first week of December as well. Just seems like a good time to go, before I start searching for work again.

i can't guarantee it hon, but i think the month you would want to AVOID is late spring, such as march to april-ish. i was told that one year, it rained for almost two months solid in late spring! it's been a while though, i had to re-read your post/s to see. now i cannot recall if it was late spring or late fall. (?!)

have you tried to hit up weather sites or do a little bit of reading? perhaps you can google "weather averages for hawai'i in december" and look at what the weather service says. I am SO not trying to be flippant or a smarty pants at all. I just eel like what i am adding here may not be enough help!

heads up, unless you are an EXPERT swimmer and surfer be sure to ask friendly locals where to swim if you wish to swim. The waves go from being as placid as a bath most of the year in some parts to huge epic waves EVERY winter, its when the surfers hold most of their competitive events.

If you had children and/or inexperienced swimmers and wanted them to be safe to go in the water, i recommend Kahala Bay, close to kahala/waikiki area. I was told it's calm year round. D

hey, I think in winter may be when you can go looking for the animals that migrate if nature watching is your bag. the dolphin and whale come around december or janruary, maybe you will be lucky to see some.

It's like this...enchanted land. Sometimes Nature dosn't cooperate, I will hope and pray you get many sunny days. just be prepared for anything...bring sunblock AND an umbrella or poncho!

lucky you, I wanna go back SO bad! I stayed with my husband for a month.
