How to dilute old lipglosses?

I have a lipgloss I love that is starting to thicken (it's Dior's Diorific Plastic Shine, which is now discontinued).  Does anyone know how to dilute it or somehow thin it out for easier application?

Try heating the tube under hot water for a couple of minutes to soften it up.
