Hi

Do you have any ideas on how I can keep my eyeshadow on for any more than 2 hours! I cant believe how quickly it all goes smudgy. I use MAC and Dior so they are good brands but they just dont seem to stay on my oily skin.

Do you use an eyeshadow primer? They really help to keep the eyeshadow in place for much longer and make the colour pop provided that you get a good one. Urban Decay Primer Potion is great and very popular although I'm nor particularly fond of the wand applicator.

MAC makes some great tubed liquid eyeshadows and has powder eyeshadows that match pretty close, even if they're not meant to. I use the liquid and then powder carefully over. I'm sure the primer will work fine for you, but try that out as well.

I agree with beautybunny, the liquid eyeshadow Bare Canvas is great as a base.

I use primer, but I also pat around the eye area with a foundation powder to really keep the eye area from creasing...i noticed the powder keeps the eye from getting oily and creasing eyeshadow.

you can also try some concealer on your lids... it won't work as well as a primer but it's definitely better than using nothing at all!

I really prefer liquids that dry powdery over creme eyeshadows - that stuff is murder if you're trying to use color in the crease or eyeliner at all.

if you have oily lids, you can try applying some face powder on your lids, it helps. a thing i do also is i gently tap a tissue on my eyes to take all excess oil. an e/s primer like UDPP (MAC also have one i personnally don't like) is IMO a must have, that is the only product that will keep your e/s good as new during the day and even the night if you're going out.

i have also discovered a tinted moisturizer made with mineral foundation does a good job at keeping e/s on during the day. that said if it's for a special occasion, i'll still apply some UDPP.

If you a search for eye primer, you will find a lot of threads about different primers. There are cheaper options than the $15 Urban Decay Primer Potion (even though this is my favorite)

1. Dont use too much moisturiser around the area.

2. Spritz your brush with water then dab it in the eyeshadow. The water 'sets' the eyeshadow so it doesnt move. Also accentuates the colour more.

3. SheLaq by Benefit.

Hi:
A big favorite of this group is Urban Decay's Primer Potion (try a Sephora store or Fragrance, Cosmetics & the Finest Facial Skin Care Product Selection at Sephora.com). There's also a couple of products which can be found in your drugsore: L'Oreal's De-Crease and Lumene's Eye Makeup Base.

Happy shopping.

I haven't tried UDPP, but I use Mac's paint's, Clinique touch tints or Guerlain's cream e/s as a base, and they work really well.
