IE is always bashed & Firefox always praised but..

I need a ram test on IE & FF nothing else was running in the background I bring up task manager after i pull up a FF browser and then one IE browser and I looked at Task manager and its telling me that FireFox uses way more memory then IE does

Try it yourself!

IE ain't so bad after all

FF 42,380 k

IE 25,856 k

any thoughts

oh and this is with Fasterfox added to the FF browser

I love Safari they have a version for Vista but its runs so slow

Makeuptalk never worked well with IE so I swtiched over to Firefox and haven't looked back.

I Love IE7 too!

I've never had any security issues with IE. I know how to safeguard my computer and I know not to visit bad sites. And from what I understand, because of the popularity of FF, more holes have been found in it too. The only reason why it dominated before was because everyone was trying to break into IE. But now FF is the target.

Did you have any extentions, add-ons and themes running on your firefox when you did that test? That would make it use more memory. For me firefox (been using it since beta) goes above and beyond IE (even 7) There is just no comparison. Especially in todays computers, where a gig of ram or more is the standard. I guess it's a users preference but I like built in ad blockers and customizable themes...not to mention it's all open source...

I have to use firefox, IE doesnt work on my computer, I used to love it (IE) but it basically blows up my computer

I use IE and have no problems. I tried Firefox out for a couple days, but just didn't like it. lol.
