Is something wrong with my Urban Decay palette?

I will definitely take it back; I've already called Ulta and told them the problem. They said as long as I have the receipt they'll take it back. Now I don't know if I should exchange it or try a different palette altogether. Maybe those colors just won't show on my skintone...I don't know...I have light brown or light tan skin...I might just end up buying a palette from MAC. I really wanted to try UD because the colors all look so vibrant when I swatch them on my hand at the store and I thought a palette would be a good way to try many shades. What UD palette would you recommend?
