Looks like I won't have to dress up for Halloween... I have Frankenstein scars!

Okay I admit I am weird.

I took photos of my surgery scars. My stitches were removed last week. I hid the photos under spoilers in case anyone is squeamish.

First photo is my elbow scar. It's actually missing a few inches near the bottom since I couldn't fit it all into the photograph. My arm is still swollen in areas.

have you tried cocoa butter or shea butter? it's supposed to help reduce scars and stretch marks.

Get better soon chicken!

I actually do have hair on my arms, dark hair. I usually wax them but since surgery I haven't been able to.

Originally Posted by puncturedskirt /img/forum/go_quote.gif What was the surgery for? The surgery on my elbow was for cubital tunnel syndrome also called ulnar nerve compression. Link for CTS- Hand University This was my second operation for it. The first operation which I had a year and half ago, they found alot of scar tissue which was compressing the nerve, removed it. This time they removed a small piece of my elbow bone plus scar tissue because the nerve was too tight.

In regards to my wrist. Two years ago I had tendonitis and was operated on. I also sustained many injuries to this arm and eventually my wrist became bad again. This time they found a neuroma (tumor- non cancerous) which they buried underneath my skin. Also some scar tissue was removed.

I may need an additional operation on my wrist. All of these problems were caused by injuries to my arm.

The incision areas are quite painful. I can only bend my arm so far. Eventually I will be sent for physiotherapy. I'm not suppose to life or carry anything heavy right now. I do move it around slowly so it doesn't become stiff.

After showering I do moisturize the scar areas with cocoa butter.

True they aren't that ugly, just painful.

Wow Shelley! Those are quite the battle wounds! I think the scar will heal up very nicely. I have seen much, much worse for more minor surgeries, so I think your doctors did you right.

Yes I agree the incisions are healing nicely. There still fresh so I imagine that is why they look reddish.

Ouch! Shelley, those look painful, I hope that they heal up easily for you and that they don't cause you too much discomfort. How is your head injury?
