NEW YORK, September 5, 2007 – Gwen Stefani was back on the runway tonight after a two-year absence. She spent most of that time caring for a newborn and touring the world, but somewhere along the line she got serious about fashion, too. Her debut, for those with short memories, was nothing short of cacophonous—one part Orange County chola girl, another part Rasta, to the tune of The Sound of Music. This show was far more harmonious. Stefani's references are still rooted in sound, specifically the ska bands that were an early inspiration for her group No Doubt. But the collection, which looked like the sixties as seen by someone who grew up in the eighties, was altogether more wearable and on trend.

Highlights included a fitted green sweater and long checked pencil skirt punctuated by a wide, bright-yellow belt; a short shift in gray leopard-print sequins over a matching bow-front silk blouse; and a black-and-white picnic-plaid strapless dress with a swirling skirt. If some of it—a one-shoulder dress encased in black mesh, for instance—resembled what we saw on last season's runways, so be it. All of it looked like Stefani. For the legions of fans who attend her sold-out shows and make her L.A.M.B. bags such hot eBay commodities, there's no better advertisement.

The entire line looks rushed, unprofessional and novice and I am not surprised because she has no history in fashion, no training, no nothing! I cant stand it when these pop stars think they can be fashion designers and compete with the likes of Fashion houses that have been around for hundreds of years. I can just imagine what Fashion Houses like Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior, Hermes, Chanel, etc. must be thinking.

I think Gwen has had the best celebrity "run" of the fashion business. I like this line, especially the bags.

I actually really like it, its fun, funky, fresh and young unlike most of the other fashion lines that tend to be conservative and welll....plain weird sometimes.

The line is definitely cute for some, but it's totally not my taste. I won't be buying that fashion anytime soon.

I like some of the stuff. All the clothes definitely look like clothes that she would wear, though! lol.

I really like her line... but what's actually wearable is pick and choose.

The latest season looks more English inspired from what I take.

She's really grown into her fashion senses.

I wish I had a bag of hers from her first line... I loved them. Bah.

Yea, I thought it was kind hit and miss too. Some I really like, others I really didn't! Overall I'd say she did pretty good tho!
