Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams' latest roles: Daddy and Mommy?

The 26-year-old Australian heartthrob and his 24-year-old girlfriend are expecting a child together this fall, according to several published reports.

While reps for both have not yet confirmed the baby-on-board story, which is making the rounds this week in the latest issues of People and Us Weekly, the couple have been telling friends, per the New York Post, that they fully expect paparazzi types to "document [Williams'] growing tummy."

Earlier this month, Australian newspapers reported Williams, best known for essaying Jen on the WB angstfest Dawson's Creek, has been taking yoga classes for expectant mothers in Sydney.

A source tells Us Weekly that the couple, who met in Canada last year on the set of director Ang Lee's new western, Brokeback Mountain, had "no immediate plans to marry."

Ledger has a thing for blondes, having dated Heather Graham and having a long on-off relationship with Naomi Watts that ended shortly before he hooked up with Williams.

The Montana-born Williams, meanwhile, has been more of a groupie when it comes to dating, having romanced indie-rock heartthrob Conor Oberst (aka Bright Eyes) and Andy Herod of the Comas. Her breakup with Herod purportedly inspired the Comas' recent album, Conductor.

Legally emancipated from her parents at 16 when she chose to pursue an acting career, Williams' post-Dawson projects have included art-house fare like Imaginary Heroes, The United States of Leland and The Station Agent.

Next up for the actress is a role in Michael Showalter's comedy The Baxter, which bows at the Tribeca Film Festival this Sunday.

Ledger first arrived on the Hollywood scene with 1999's 10 Things I Hate About You and quickly moved on to next-big-thing status following his role as Mel Gibson's son in 2000's The Patriot. While he hasn't quite managed ascend to the top of the A-list, he has kept busy. Ledger has two big summer films in the pipeline, the skater flick Lords of Dogtown (June 3) and Terry Gilliam's The Brothers Grimm (July 29) opposite Matt Damon.

If the stork reports are true, then Williams and Ledger will be welcoming two offspring by year's end. The cowboy-themed Brokeback Mountain, in which they star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, Linda Cardellini and Anna Faris, is due in theaters Dec. 9.
