Lipgloss doesn't work well with my pigmented lips.

I hate lipgloss, I give up on it. I have very pigmented lips that I can only work with if I use a very frosty gloss, like in my avatar, well...it doesn't look frosty, but it is, haha, and if I put liquid foundation on my lips. It is SO annoying. Now that it is winter, and I am staying away from the spray tans, I am getting whiter, and frosty + white = total washout. I am not into reds, because it is too bold for me, and pinks and corals are nice, but in a nice shade.

However, all the glosses I have ever tried, are never that great on me, since my lips are so pigmented, that the color barely shows up. It's so annoying, and definitely my biggest makeup problem. I absolutely hate it. I cannot find even ONE that shows up on my lips, and isn't one of those really frosty colors that I absolutely loathe nowadays, since it is the only thing that has worked for me since I was a kid.

Until I can find one, I guess I am stuck with the frosty crap!

Any suggestions? I am getting desperate.

BIG suggestion- get deep berry colored glosses. i know they look grape colored and extreme in the squeeze tube, but once you have them on, it's like the perfect pink! also, try lining with a sheer lip liner made for glosses as well, it will help define and deepen th color.

Hi,

Don't be intimidated by them. Berries are beautiful. Have fun.

Mine are really red sometimes and sometimes almost dark purple but I started putting on liquid/powder foundation on my lips before hand. I don't think foundation has ever worked for me, it has to be some kind of creamy texture for my lips. I use Cover Girl's Ultimate Finish liquid/powder MU. That's my only use for it, as a lip concealer.... It's cheap too, you should try it.

I have very red pigmented lips...it is tough sometimes to wear the nude colors. Everything turns pink. I use the Benefit Lip Plump primer to erase my lip color. I pat a tiny bit in and let it dry. Then I line and gloss. Works great!

Mac pro stores have something called "lip erase." It has no texture at all and doesn't mix with your gloss like most foundations tend to do. They have 2 colors for light and medium skin tones.

Before the lip erase I used the benefit lip plump, and liked that too.

Hi, I used to have a problem with my lip color showing true to it's actual color until I tried this:

balm

concealer

foundation

whatever blush or highlighter i am using on my face (sparingly! this is just for uniformity so my lips don't look too white from the concealer either)

powder

liner (optional)

lipstick (optional--if i am using)

gloss (if i am using)

Now I never have a problem with my lip color showing true to color, and I have very pink, almost berry lips myself! HTH! (BTW, I do these steps right along with my face makeup steps, so it doesn't take any longer)

We have a pro store in London so my only option would be to have it ordered over the phone, but I don't have a pro membership...

I have the exact opposite problem. My lips are the exact same color as my face. If I don't wear lip liner (or lipstick, for that matter), it looks like I have no lips. I've always wanted a color to them, but I guess not.

I've never used primer, I put foundation on my lips. Would primer be better? Would the Monostat anti-chafe work or shuld I try "real" lip primer?

First you should make sure you're not using any sheer or med sheer glosses, which are the majority of glosses out there. Always make sure their full coverage. Another idea could be for you to use a lipstick/lipstain with clear gloss on top.

You can buy anything MAC pro without a membership, you just have to order over the phone I believe like you said, you just dont get the membership discount.
I think lip erase is a great option, I also recommend MAC pro long wear gloss, its extremely pigmented, and lasts forever, just freshen it up with a clear gloss to make it last all day. Have you tried really pigmented lipsticks with a clear gloss over top? You could make it look like lipgloss

My lips are kind of pigmented too. They're very mauvy and I dont it. The lady at the sephora counter suggested "barely beige" by Laura Mercier. I got it and I really like it. It's not a ton of color but very natural glossy color.

have you tried a gold shimmery one? it reduces the pink. I have really pink lips, too. so lots of colors look distorted on me too.
