MAC veluxe eyeshadows

I bought two this weekend...is the pigmentation lighter? For some reason i had the hardest time applying and blending them. Of course, I had a paint as my base...but I always use one as a base...

ideas? experiences?

Veluxe shadows are better applied if you pat them rather than sweep them. At least that is my experience with them.

yeah, while i love mac eyeshadows, veluxe are my least faves for this reason.
