So...the time has come! I'm finally meeting all of my boyfriend (of almost 2 years) extended family. I've met his mother and brothers (the most important people to him) but not his grandmother, aunts, uncles, etc. (You get the idea).

Now, I'm going to his hometown for Thanksgiving to spend it with his family. I'm not necessarily nervous but I do want to present myself right. That being said, I've been thinking ALL DAY about how I'm going to do my makeup.

Liner on top & bottom? Neutral or bold colors? Lips? Light foundation?

I don't want to come off like I'm trying too hard but I do want to look bee-u-tee-ful! I'm leaving early Thursday morning so I'll need to find something soon!

Any suggestions? Anything at all will be a help!

Thanks ladies!

I would go with neutral colors, with just liner on the top. Just in case someone has a problem with bright colors, you'll be safe. Thanksgiving with the boyfriend's family is exciting! Have a great time!

Neutral colors might be better if you are concerned but be yourself by all means. Good luck and hope everything turns out well.

Thanks ladies...my DBF thinks I'm crazy for basically pre-picking my "face" for Thanksgiving but like G.I. Joe says "it's half the battle"!

Thanks sooooo much!

I'll let you know how it went!

I would say go neutral on the eyes: Mascara, a little bit of brown contouring e/s, touch of liner on the top lid (either on top of lashline, or underneath lashes/tightlining).

For the lips, just enhance the natural color they are, a sheer pinky gloss looks nice. Don't pull out all the stops trying to apply the perfect nude or bright color because remember... you will be eating.

Look soft and pretty, but not high maintenance. You want his family to notice your face, not your makeup.

Definitely stick to neutrals, but look hot at the same time. You do want them to notice what a hot girl your man chose.

I agree with what everyone else has said! I wouldn't go too heavy with eye makeup. Just something nice and natural, but maybe just a little bit brighter lippie. Have fun and DO let us know how it went!

Hi,

Definitely neutrals (keeping your look as natural as possible). As S. Lisa Smith said "just be yourself, the woman he loves."

Have a wonderful time.

Good luck to you! You are a lovely girl. Try to have your makeup be as "naturally pretty" as possible- you don't want them to think you're "hot"- you want them to think you are a natural beauty. Which you are!
