HEllo ladies! I'm posting this on behalf of my mother!

She has tried BM, EDM, Ulta Minerals, and Signature Minerals. None of them have worked for her. She says that shortly after applying them, they turn her face red, and none of them have lasting power on her. My mother has a bit of rosacea on her face, I don't know if the mmu is cauing a reaction or what. Aslo, from what I can tell, my mom's skin seems sort of dry.

I'm wondering if you gals can recommend other brands that might work for her skin!

Hi citre! I'm sorry to hear about your mother's experiences with MMU. I, too, have some minor rosacea around my cheeks and nose so I have to be really careful with what I use on my face. Unfortunately, MMU just doesn't work for me as I always breakout or get rashes when I use it. I went back to my tinted moisturizer and my skin has calmed down (in fact, I think it breathed a sigh of relief!!!). Has she been reading the ingredient lists for the various MMUs that she's tried??? In this way, she can determine what's causing her reactions. I found out that the high concentrations of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide caused my breakouts while the high mica content exacerbated my rosacea. Sorry I can't recommend any specific products, as none have worked for me but narrowing it down to what ingredients do and don't work for her skin can help minimize her rosacea outbreaks. Good luck!

She might want to look into the brushes she's using too and if she's pressing too hard on her skin. Natural hair brushes tend to make me itch due to the dander that is on them since I'm fairly allergic to them. Also if its a scratchy brush that could do it too. Is she using a primer at all?

I highly recommend Silk Naturals: the silk powder in the foundation has healing properties, which may calm down her skin. Also, I recommend a good moisturiser that is specifically for your mother's skin type. My skin has changed a lot and it has gone from combination to dry/sensitive. My beauty therapist recommended a range of Clarins products that have helped tremendously:

In the morning after cleansing and toning I use a light layer of Moisture Quenching HydraCare Lotion SPF15, then a light layer of Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. I leave that for 15 minutes or so before I apply my MMU. In the evening, after cleansing, I massage Clarins Santal Face Treatment Oil into my still damp face.

I noticed that I have slight rosacea on my right cheek near my nose, and by using my Clarins routine and my Silk Naturals foundation, I've found that it has calmed down a bit. Also the dryness of my skin has improved greatly.

I also second the use of synthetic brushes. They are much softer than natural hair brushes, and may help with reducing irritation.

I would say though, that maybe your mother needs to see a dermatologist or a beauty therapist for more advice, just in case!

Another MMU brand that may help reduce the redness is from Elemental Beauty, they have a healing foundation range...
