Hi Ladies:

I'm not sure if any one is a member of MSB on here but there haven't been that many threads on here regarding this beauty subscription so I'm creating one.  The products were awesome to me this month.

Alaffia skin renewal face cream



Alaffia Facial Toner



Alaffia facial scrub for dry skin.  This worked wonders on my dry skin.  I think that it cured my dryness and I'm about to buy the full size in the My Shade of Brown store.



Ada Cosmetics blush.  It's highly pigmented so "less is more" /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

 

Hair Rules hydrating finishing cream.  This stuff is amazing for my kinky-curly hair.  I'm going to get the full size too. I just ordered the full sized shampoo from my birchbox the other day.

My birchbox this month was meh, but this box sure did make up for it.

aww. that really sucks.  this code was given to me before and it worked.  I contacted someone at msb and they said that they would look into it.  hopefully it's a minor glitch and they also told me that it was for the first box only and not for full size items.  did you try to get a full size item or a monthly box?

Update: I received an answer from MSB and they said that they will try to get the code fixed by tomorrow evening at the latest and that they will post updates on their facebook page.  I apologize for any hardship this may have caused anyone using the code.  This is a really good subscription (I've been a member since their 2nd box in April) and they introduced me to a lot of natural products and up and coming beauty companies owned by women of color so everyone should give it a try /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I subscribed to msb for 2 months. The first box had curly pudding, soap, nail poish and another sample. I forgot what the second box had but I know I got a blush or bronzer like the one shown above. I didn't mind the box for $5 but for $10, the sizes and actual products were kind of boring to me. I get a lot Of cleansers and moisturizers which is okay but when they're in a foil packet it's a turn off lol

Good! It works now.

Don't know when they will send out Alaffia stuff again. Love this brand!

Yay!  I found out through my source there that it is sold out but she will make an announcement on their facebook page as to when they will re-stock. I would put a link to the page but I believe that it's against the terms of service to post the facebook link here.  I have officially found my holy grail face/skincare routine with the samples in this box.  I got my box around the 4th and I still have tons of sample left.  Birchbox could take a lesson from them on deluxe samples, smh.

Is this geared towards women of color? I've not been having the best of luck with subs as the colors they send don't fit my skin tone.

Technically yes, but I didn't see anything in boxes that non people of color couldn't use. Some of the items such as hair rules, and Ada cosmetics were featured in Birchbox as well. In most of my boxes I've gotten body washes, makeup, and hair care. They don't put food or perfume in their boxes, which is awesome in my opinion. I hope this helps.
