Update: I already had the surgery, just updating my post.

The surgeons office called me this am and mentioned they have a cancellation. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon and will take 2 hours. Surgery will be on my left elbow and left wrist.

The surgeon works out of a hospital but also a semi-private clinic. My surgery will be at the clinic which is not far from where I live.

Today I have been rushing around buying groceries, last minute errands. Luckily I found an old pair of p.j's because I slit the sleeve to fit my arm which will be bulky with the bandages.

I don't feel that nervous about the surgery at least not yet. I went through it last year so I know what to expect.

So I may not be around on the forums for awhile. Have fun everyone and take care!

If I feel up to it, more or less when I am doped up on Tylenol 3's I may be able to check out MUT.

If you are interested about my elbow problem here is a link... Hand University

With my wrist I will be having scar revision surgery and something else being done to it.

Good luck and dont be nervous....youll be fine!

I know how ard it is dealing with the wait in Canada....Ive just begun on the surgery journey....So happy you got the cancellation call!!!

The waiting times are crazy! I was told it would take a year to get in to see a plastic surgeon just for the consultation. Luckily a newly graduated plastic surgeon just moved to our city. It only took 2 weeks to get in to see her. I saw her about a month ago. They told me surgery would be September/October this year so that wasn't bad at all.

Saja how long do you have to wait for surgery or are you on the waiting list?

It took 2.5 months to see my doctor, so he could refer me to the surgeons. I seen him last week, I have an appt with the plastic surgeon Oct 30 and the neurologist Dec 6.....lord knows itll be months before i can actually have the surgery if they even agree to it.

If you don't mind me asking... is the problem with your arm, wrist, hand? Or something completely different? If you don't want to say that's okay.
I saw a neurologist for a nerve conduction test prior to my surgery. Last year my compression was severe. I already had surgery for this problem and it came back. Not the surgeons fault, I sustained some injuries to the area not long after surgery. This time the NC test showed mild-medium compression but my problem has been ongoing for 6 months or more. Physio etc wasn't helping the problem.

It takes forever to see specialists. My family doctor didn't want to refer me to a surgeon ,told me to live with my problem. I headed to another doctor, same thing. As soon as I mentioned about flying out to Toronto because it only takes 7 months to see a hand surgeon, they moved quickly and decided to refer me to someone where I live.

Thanks everyone!
