Having had acryllic nails, for 2 months, I removed them by soaking my nails in accetone at the beginning of September. My nails are still weak, are there any polishes which strengthen nails?

there are heaps - my favourite is OPI nail envy - the original formula with green writing on the front. Basically, as I'm sure you know, you will just have to wait for the weak part to grow out, but nail envy will harden them up and keep them from breaking while your nails are growing out and getting stronger.

Also, after I toom my acrylics off, I found it seemed to make them healthier and stronger when I moisturised my hands a lot

hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks! They may look nice, but they're not so nice on your nails

Try Sally Hansen's Maximum Growth, it worked for me.

I had acrylic nails before, and after I had them taken off my nails were so weak and fragile that you could literally fold them over. Maximum Growth helped to strengthen them. I've found that the Sally Hansen line is great for strengthening nails and making nail polish last longer.

I've been using Sally Hansen's Nailgrowth Miracle for about a week or so. Can't tell the difference yet but a lot of people use it and swear by it.

Hmm I have the same problem and heard that either Jessica, OPI or Sally Hansen are the best brands. Still undecided though!

I must be strange because I've worn acrylic nails a ton... I buy them from the drugstore and I put new ones on every week, and I actually noticed that my nails were stronger when I would take them off to change them!

I've had acrylic nails several times in my life and the only thing that unfortunately helped was to grow them back out.

i suggest you moisturise them as much as you can. handcream, oil... i know mavala has some treatment for weak nails but i never tested it.

Vitamins for hair and nails. I took mine off too. my nails are wrecked. I use a nail oil treatment also. Olive oil based.

I've too have found that the Sally Hansen line is great for strengthening nails and making nail polish last longer. But remember the old weak nail will need to grow out before you you’ll see a big difference.

The best thing you can do is use a cuticle oil religiously for the next few months. Put it on as often as you can. It will definately make a difference.
