I'm new. I've already done a brief intro over in the blogs, but I figured I'd do one here as well.
This is just copy and pasted... I'm feeling rather lazy today.
A bit about me:
I'm an artist that's currently facing a phase in life that all artists must face, getting a "normal" job to get by. Work has dried up. Why is it that every time the economy takes a nose dive, art is the first thing to go?
I spend most of my time tinkering on the computer, designing clothing and costumes, sketching, cooking and baking, sewing and reading. Oh yeah and playing video games. I'm a geek and quite proud of it.
I spent the past year traveling the country with my boyfriend. Born and raised in LA, I decided it was time to see what else is out there. I'm currently residing in New England. Although things have been difficult, leaving LA was a good decision. I'm finding my creativity and passion is returning.
I'm currently considering going back to school to get my MFA in Graphic Design as I'm a bit sick of the Fashion industry.
Makeup:
I'm a natural redhead with very long hair. I was blessed with the coloring of a strawberry blond. Meaning very pale skin with a slight cool peach undertone and a small scattering of freckles. My features are, as expected, very light. My eyes tend to range from a slight gray green to a very vivid intense green.
Finding the right colors has been a struggle since I was 15. I eventually resorted to more dramatic makeup, something I'm currently trying to correct. Finding the right eyebrow color is near impossible. Blond is too ashy and auburn is far too dark. Black mascara looks too dramatic, brown just isn't right, foundations are always off....
I tend to prefer burgundy mascara as it brings out the most green in my eyes but it's a serious struggle finding it. That, combined with dark green eyeliner and burgundy liner layered over it in a very thin line makes my eyes pop to such a degree that, if it weren't for my glasses you'd swear I'm wearing colored contacts. As burgundy liner is difficult to find, I've simply been using mineral makeup with a fixative. Eyebrows, I'm thinking MAC's Tete-a-Tint might be ideal but I've yet to test this theory
For foundation, when I do wear it (which isn't often) I tend to stick with Aromaleigh 00Alabaster. That's the only foundation I've found thus far that isn't too dark and doesn't make the light freckles look muddy. Blush is always Benefit's Benetint. If I'm not obsessing over Burt's Bees lip balm then I'm wearing some form of lip gloss. Eye shadows I tend to stick with MAC's vivid colors. I'm a bit of a recovering MAC addict.
So... there's your not so brief intro.
