Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban didn't exactly silence pregnancy whispers when they stepped out with their arms entwined this weekend in Sydney, Australia, a lovey-dovey gesture that also happened to camouflage the actress' much-scrutinized midsection.
Turns out there was a good reason for the cover-up.
On Monday, Kidman, 40, confirmed that she and her country crooner hubby, 40, are expecting their first child together.
"The couple are thrilled," her rep tells People, with his more enthusiastic mouthpiece echoing to Us, "They're thrilled!"
Nicole is already mom to Bella, 15, and Connor, 12, whom she adopted with ex-husband Tom Cruise.
Just last week, her Australian spokeswoman brushed off the baby speculation, pointing out, "She must have had about 30 babies by now."
Coincidentally, that's about the same number of times in recent years that Kidman, who wed Urban in June 2006, has publicly expressed her longing to hear the pitter-patter of little feet.
"I'm yearning to have one. I think I would be very sad if I wasn't able to have a baby," she admitted in the September issue of Vanity Fair. "Keith knows I want one, and he has been getting there slowly."
In the latest issue of In Style UK, Nicole gushed, "I love babies," but said of her poopie diaper plans, "I would say it's in God's hands. If God wills it, it will happen."
And now that it has, the Oscar winner, who has acknowledged suffering both an ectopic pregnancy and a miscarriage during her marriage to Cruise, may not be taking any chances.
According to the New York Post, she's "so concerned about the welfare of her unborn child" that she's bailed out of the Ralph Fiennes drama "The Reader," which is soon to begin filming in Berlin.
