ok I did a search so if this question has already been answered my appologies!!

I have been wearing nuvaring a few months now, and some months is worse than others, but I find that it slips down inside.. so when I'm walking I can feel it, kind of like how it feels when a tampon gets too full (sorry, kind of graphic

I have 2 questions in regards to this:

a. will it reduce the effectiveness by being that low down in my vag, and

b. any tips for getting it further up there? my fingers are too short, but the main problem is when I try to push it up further it just bends!

PLUS when it DOES stay in it seems to be sitting on my bladder. Am I putting it in wrong?

Otherwise, I LOVE the ring, it gives me shorter periods, less cramps and headaches, less cravings, less weight gain. I want to keep on it, but im worried that its losing effectiveness because i have to take it out and reposition it so frequently, and also getting frustrated that I need to go to the bathroom so often. Sigh

Ask bf to put in place?

Sorry i don't have good answers for any of your questions; perhaps you could e-mail the nuvaring makers and ask about the effectiveness

i have used the ring before myself and i did like too. I recall my doctor saying that as long as it is in it is working..... you can even take it out for up to 3 hours. (I found that sex was uncomfortable with it in place and he told me to take out and replace it when needed.) As for putting in i jsut bent it half and placed it up there... if it bends then it might be at the "top" i would guess. Deff go see our MD though.....

I don´t think the effectiveness would be reduced if it´s lower in your vagina since the Nuvaring it still touching vaginal mucosa which absorbs the hormones. I´d just imagine it´s more uncomfortable that way, and you said you can feel it.

Hm I also don´t know why it would bend if you push it further in, I`ve never used it myself. Aren´t you supposed to bend it, insert it, and then push it in as far as possible - and then remove your fingers and it would juse "unfold" by itself? Lol sorry for that weird explanation, I only know about the Nuvaring use in theory.

I've found that it stays in place better if I fold it in half and put it in while it's still cold from the fridge. I think that being cold is what makes the difference. Not that I like shoving cold things up there, but it works better for me that way.

maybe I'll try it cold... it just slides down over the course of a few days. So irritating. lol hope dad isn't like, Rosie, what's this in the fridge?? HAHA
