just an update for anyone curious about pc's products. I actually love the skin balancing cleanser. Today i tried a sample of her carbon/charcoal mask and my skin looks really nice and wasn't dried out, which i was fearful of. i broke down and bought the 1% bha lotion, but have not received it yet. I love these products!!! i was going to get the nongreasy lotion w/spf, but have heard negative reviews on it, so i won't be getting it. These products are reasonably priced, not dept. store prices, but not drugstore prices

. I'm glad I listened to others about these products, I'm just going to keep my fingers crossed that they keep on delivering!!!

I use Paula's 2% BHA solution and it's great for keping my skin clear. A word of warning though, your skin will break out at first as you are clearing all the junk out of your pores. Paula warns about this in one of her books, can't remember which one. Anyway, it took a couple of weeks for my skin to fully clear up....I could see some zits getting better while I had new ones cropping up.

I also love Paula's eyeshadows (the singles), her brushes (I have both her regular sized set and the travel sized one), nailpolish and creamy lipsticks. I'm planning to try her lipgloss wand next. Her matte lipsticks are great colors and long-wearing, but too dry for my always-dried-out lips.

HTH, Meg

oh, great. I don't want to break out!!! My skin is clear right now, I was worried about that (that it would break me out first). Do you think it's worth it??? I guess it's too late b/c I already ordered it. Thanks for your response by the way!!!

It might be worth risking a few breakouts if you are trying to clear up blackheads. I used to have a nose that was nothing but blackheads, few to none now. My facialist is always surprised by how few extractions she has to do to me.

Haven't tried any of Paula's lotions. LOL...Walgreen's brand of Vaseline Intensive Care is cheap, unscented and almost always on sale. Nice consistency and it soaks right into my skin.

Let us know how you make out with the stuff you ordered from Paula's.

I am going to try it on my nose b/c I have a few blackheads there!!! Thanks for the help!

oh by the way, I tried the 10% aha lotion sample on my body, twice, and I'm not sure I like it. I geuss I like frufru (don't know if thats a word) body lotions that smell delicious and make my skin super soft. With this body lotion you can smell the (non-smell {you know the smell of fragrant free stuff}) on your body, which I don't like, it's just unappealing. I'll still try it a couple more times, to see if I beg to differ. Overall, from the products I have tried:

I loooooveeeeeee #&($(@#&*$#%(*#%&)#

the skin balancing skin cleanse (my skin is so smooth, soft, and nice),

I also like the blemish fighting solution a lot (I use to prevent monthly breakout)

and the carbon/charcoal mask, I looooved this stuff!!!! I strongly reccomend all these products, and trust me, I have tried everything, and am extremely critical.

I got some samples sent, I really liked the sunscreen for oily combination skin and I use the beta hydroxy liquid, though I can only use it every 2 days or my skin just peels and looks horrible. I bought the shampoo and didnt like that much.

Also i dont understand the bad reviews on the non greasy sunscreen because I didnt find it greasy at all and my skin is a little bit oily

I have tried her skincare-face cream with SPF 30-suppose to be non greasy:yeah right,it;s horrible,i have normal/dry skin and it leaves greasy filter on my face,I also tried her serum with antioxidants(also greasy, but not too much) and her lotion with BHA-this one I like.

Paula's books are meant to be used as a guide. There have been products that I have disagreed with Paula's review, but there have been a lot more where I agreed with her.

Mainly I use her books to make better informed decisions about where I am going to spend my money. Before I read her books, I made my product decisions based on the advertising. Now, I can read Paula's reviews, read the ingredient labels and make a better-informed choice.

For example, my favorite foundation (sadly discontinued) was one that Paula didn't like at all. But it worked for me and one of the reasons I bought it was the sunscreen in it was one that Paula recommended.

Paula's recommendations for skin care are what cleared up my face. I developed bad acne in my 30's and nothing the dermatologist gave me worked for more than a couple of months and even then, cleared maybe 1/2 - 3/4 of my skin. One of the products I use daily is a 2% BHA gel, either Paula's or another brand that she recommends in one of her books. The cost is about the same, I use whichever is easier for me to buy. (If I am ordering @ Paula's I buy hers, otherwise, off to Walgreens.)

My favs from Paula'a are: 2% BHA gel, creamy lipsticks, eyeshadow singles, blush. I'm thinking of trying her moisturising gel, my birthday was this month and I subscribe to her newsletter, so I was sent a code to get 10% off my purchases this month. Decisions, decisions! (I'm trying very hard not to order more lipsticks, I have way too many!)
