At the President's Inauguration she was accused of lip syncing but at the pre-Super Bowl she sang live. Did she prove she wasn't lip syncing to you?

Personally I think she did lip sync to her own pre-recorded voice and the reason why is because when she DID sing live you could hear her voice shake and quiver at various notes while her singing last week was perfect with none of the shaking or quivers. Regardless of was it "live or Memorex" she has a killer voice and proved that she has powerful voice.

Thoughts?

I remember big arena concert venues back in the day didn't sound like CD quality playback concerts of a few years ago to today.

I think she's got a killer voice and I wish her and any other performer would always perform live, if possible. I hope the Super Bowl is live...people don't pay those kind of prices for auto tune and all that crap. I don't think people dispute whether or not her voice is quality, but that lip syncing and auto tuning adds a cheapness and overall poor taste to a vocalist.

Maybe that's why I still love rock and so many other genres..Can't really see my fave rockers auto tuning or lip syncing their way through performances. Is it silly to say I miss when people paid to see a singer sing in a concert, not gyrate across the stage and pyrotechnics?

It's funny that we are offended when people sing live and offended if they don't and mess up in some way. Best of luck to Beyoncè! I hope she is live and spectacular!

I'm not offended exactly.. scenarios like this just have me scratching my head. Great legendary singers, male and female, never had this kind of lip sync/auto tune option and surprise, surprise, they managed to become legends by really having distinct and quality voices. Now, everything has to be on some insane level..the dancing, costuming, yada yada. I don't mind a little crack in a voice at times, it can really add texture and convey feelings and emotions. If you have pipes, show them off all the time..don't sell your fans short. That's what albums are for.

I fail to see why this is such a big deal to people. The performance went off without a hitch. Who cares if she lip-synced? And don't we have bigger problems that we should be collectively worried about, like, I dunno,  maybe child poverty, health care reform, and so on?

Maybe people will appreciate Roseanne Barr's version better?

I mean, people who have nut size brains are the only ones who think about such things rather than minding what's beneficial.

I am more worried that our dog doesn't poop in a day.

To say there are more important issues and want to just sweep something under the rug is nonsense. For that matter, why would we ever bother discussing anything, unless it's some major hot topic or social issue? It's not a conversation about healthcare reform(which is coming into fruition in the US), child welfare and poverty(going to happen with a poor economy and parents/guardians unable to find stable jobs to make money and provide). Not to mention with the healthcare reform, the coverage for a family of four is going to cost upwards of $20, 000; certainly don't see people climbing out of poverty if they've got a fat bill like that. But, this is supposed to be a discussion about pop culture, not healthcare or the economy.

It doesn't really bother me either way. As long as she isn't lip syncing to someone else it's fair game to me. Having said that I do appreciate performers who do sing live and do it well. There are surprisingly few these days.

That's it exactly! While I appreciate the whole persona and atmosphere, I much prefer a great voice..probably why I don't do a lot of concerts anymore. Fancy footwork is not what moves the fan in me, it's the emotion and feeling from hearing a truly beautiful voice, grit, cracks and breaks included. Save the pre record or lip syncing for a music video please, give me a pure voice lol.

Not a person who follows politics, nor do I like sports really..... Hockey is OKAYish and I DO like fishing.... so I didn't see either of those. No input. x:
