So what are your 5 favorite comedy movies of all time?

I myself prefer light-hearted, dorky humor so...

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels

Dumb and Dumber

Happy Gilmore

Grumpy & Grumpier Old Men

All Monty Python movies (couldn't pick one lol)

Shaun of the Dead

Most Monty Python - excluding Jabberwocky

Animal House

Borat

Princess Bride

The Jerk

Zombieland

I have more than 5 and I can't narrow it down.

Pulp Fiction

Nightmare on Elm Street 3

Beyond the Valley of the Dolls

Walk Hard

Dazed and Confused

Dazed and Confused

Old School

The Hangover

Tommy Boy

Tropic Thunder

There's sooo many more, but that's for starters lol.

I think the only comedy movie I have watched again and again and still could sit through today is Caddyshack. So that is my number one!

I must see Tropic Thunder again though, that was hilarious! The funny thing is...a bunch of friends (all people of color) were talking about blackface years ago and we made up our minds that it's always racist, ALWAYS. In US culture it's so loaded that you just can't do it without it being racist. Well, I don't know now! Robert Downey Jrs part wasn't making fun of black people so much as it was making fun of RDJ's character. They may have pulled off the one way that it can be done.

Team America World Police. I took my kids to this with reservations, I kept thinking this might be a bad idea. They were 13 and 11 at the time, and I thought, how bad can puppets be? Then...puppet sex! I was dying...of laughter! Even now, when something typical American stupidity happens (you know, reality tv type stuff) we look at each other and sing, "America! F*ck yeah!"

Deuce Bigelow Male Gigolo. I laughed until my stomach hurt and I was howling.

Super Troopers. Our kitten is even named after our favorite scene, "Evil shenanigans!"

I just noticed that all my favorites are totally nonsensical and ridiculous. That is my type of humor, I guess! lol

The last movie I went to see in the theater was Rock of Ages. You can all skip it. It's terrible...except, Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, and Russel Brand. You really didn't give a crap if the two leads lived or died, but those three played their parts perfectly. I wish they had cut out the leads and just built the whole movie around them. Thinking about Tom Cruise's part in Tropic Thunder reminded me of his part in Rock of Ages. He really is a great actor even if he's nuts in real life. lol

Zombieland! OMG Those rules! Love those rules.

My top 5... that I can watch over and over again.... Hmm... Among the more modern movies...

  1. Robin Hood: Men in Tights
  2. Spaceballs
  3. You've Got Mail
  4. Men in Black
  5. Sleepless in Seattle

Older movies

  1. Operation Petticoat
  2. Some Like It Hot
  3. Auntie Mame
  4. Hello, Dolly!
  5. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
