Hello ladies, hope you are all well!

I recently treated myself to a rather luscious NARS brush set on ebay, but now I'm starting to worry that it might be a fake. I don't own any other NARS brushes to compare with and don't live near a counter, so I wondered if any of you who have NARS brushes could tell me whether they come with a white number printed on the end of the shaft? I checked the NARS website and didn't see any mention of numbers there which made me nervous. The brushes all look top quality and feel nice but I just want to be sure. I'm also going to have a look in the gallery to see if anyone has posted pics of NARS brushes in their stashes.

Thanks!!

Claire xx

how much did you pay for them? I saw a set of NARS brushes on sephora.com that was $170.

if the brushes were insanely cheap, they might be fake. there are so many people selling fake makeup items on ebay.

but if you get them and they work well, thats all that matters.

I got a massive set in a leather roll bag with a botan brush for £90 (think that's about $180). They came from a UK seller with good feedback. They look good quality and feel nice but I guess I wanted to enjoy the feeling of getting the real thing for a total bargain (don't know whether I can though, lol).

Here's how they came (brushes in roll bag and botan in box):

Would be interested to know what you guys think.

Thanks,

those look real, but when i get back to work on saturday, i'll check the brushes and their numbers for you to see if they have them.

mine has the number on it that i got off ebay.

i saw nars brushes in sephora and they have the numbers on those too.

Hey there, I was searching online to see if my NARS brushes were fakes too, because they sure as heck seem like it, and I came across this thread. I am glad to know that I might not be the only one!

Mine are also numbered, I only purchased two brushes, a lip brush and concealer brush, they looked authentic, and when I opened the package also. There was a price tag sticker around the neck of the brushes, and when I peeled them off, I saw CHINA on them. Be weary ladies!!! I have been ripped off with MAC glitter brilliants too, its disheartening and always sucks to lose money!

I purchased on e-bay too, did you take any action against the seller? (if they were fakes).

fake or not, does it really matter? they look like very nice quality and if authenticity was the biggest concern, why not just purchase from the store, a reputable merchant, or the NARS website? Wash em, have fun with them, and forget about where they were made. As a wise consultant once told me, its just make-up. Have some fun!

I know this is an old topic, but I have to say that all NARS brushes have on their ferrule "Made in China" because that`s is the country where they were made. It doesn`t mean that they`re fake just because of that.
