Hi

This question is just out of curiosity really. I am currently with a partner and pregnant but................ because being pregnant all sorts of strange things go through your head I wondered how I would cope as a single mother if the relationship broke down.

How have any of you as single mothers coped? What are the most difficult times, the most joyous times you have had and would you do it again after going through the whole experience?

Simply put. You would do whatever it took. My daughters father was never part of her life and I did it alone, put myself through school and raised a pretty great girl. You have moments that you feel alone but also the most joyous moments a woman can have. It's too hard to put into words and once your baby is born you will understand that you will do anything to love and protect that child. You do what you have to whether you are with a partner or not.

I loved being a mother all on my own!!! I never once thought it was difficult even with all the medical stuff I had to deal with with Justine. You have nobody to answer to and you can parent the way you want!! Being a mother is the best thing ever!!

I was a single mother from the time I was 4 mths. along until John and I finally decided to live together back in 2002 (he's not my oldest daughter's biological father). It wasn't easy, but I had help from family and friends. The first thing I did was file for child support... Daniel still isn't a part of Cyera's life, and he's only 2.5 hrs. away now that we moved up to NY. Honestly, you might be bitter or sad at first, but eventually you let it all go and just enjoy your child enough for both parents... At least that's what I did... I'm back to being bitter, but that's just because he's a blatant a$$!

Now this is interesting. I am a married single mom. My husband has never taken an active part in Ashley's life. No question of parentage-he just was not interested. So it has always been just Ashley and I. He has a son by another marriage and is very close to him. I have loved it. My life was built around Ashley and we are so close that it is unbelievable. Financial support was always there-if it wasn't I honestly stole money from him. haha. But is it just me and my girl and still is.

I suggest ..you suggest to your partner that you both should "go with the flow"
