People have often come up with different theories about tennis bracelets and their origins. We have heard stories like it was formed by a tennis player and so many other things of such nature. While this may not be entirely true, there is a correlation between tennis bracelets and a tennis player.

Chris Evert, a world-class tennis player, had her string of diamonds fall off her wrist in the middle of tough competition. This resulted in the champion taking an excuse from her moderators so she could look for her pieces of highly expensive jewelry. Since that event, the name tennis bracelet has been used to describe the piece of jewelry.

When she was asked about it in an interview, the icon said it was her tennis bracelet.

Contrary to what many people think, tennis bracelets did have a name before the event that gave them their present name. Before the Chris Evert event at the tennis court, the bracelet style was known as diamond line bracelets or eternity bracelets. This name seemed quite suitable back then because of the arrangements of gemstones that were set close together to create the piece.

Since the event with Chris Evert, other female tennis players have picked up the jewelry style. Examples of such people are Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. People spotted Serena Williams in 2002 wearing a $29,000 worth Harry Winston diamond tennis bracelet to one of her games. It was a remarkable sight that turned heads.
