Hello all! I'm so glad to be here! I've been lurking for quite a while and have been learning a lot from you all! <3

I'm a 43 year old woman who's always looked young for my age but about two weeks ago, I woke up and noticed wrinkles and sun damage (I live in Florida and practically lived outside, smoking, for over 6 years! I no longer smoke, and I drink TONS of water now ~ really trying to improve myself!). I know they've been there for a while and I only just noticed them, but now that I SEE them, I can't STOP seeing them!

About a week ago, I waxed my upper lip and began a regimen of Exuviance Optilight Tone Corrector and Peter Thomas Roth Unwrinkle Peel Pads (glycolic acid peel), with a generous slathering of Loreal's Triple Power Deep Penetrating Day/Night Moisturizer. Today, I did Olay's Regenerist Microdermabrasion Peel, too.

So, far, the results are decent. But my skin still looks kind of leathery and the pores large and "saggy." The area around my upper lip that I waxed peeled (I don't think I should have used a peel so quickly after waxing ... live and learn). And my under-eye area is really crepy, and some areas of my face are tight-ish and shiny (forehead, nose, apples of cheeks). Are those likely results/effects of the peels?

Also, am I good candidate for a TCA peel? If so, how strong? While I *did* get some red spots from the peels that lasted a day or two (I used the PTR pads about 2x a day for the week straight), and I do still have a slightly raw feeling on some areas of my face, I think I heal pretty fast ... I've always healed extremely fast.

Any suggestions are more than welcomed and appreciated!! Thank you so much for reading!!!

(Edited because I wrote T*S*A peel, rather than T*C*A peel! Duh!!!

I should mention that an employee (who said she used to work for a dermo) at my local Ulta recommended that I use the Exuviance for likely hyper-pigmentation on my upper lip. She also recommended that I wax my upper lip on the off chance that I had darker hair, there, too.

However, I don't think she meant for me to do both in one day! o_O

I actually just purchased the 8% TCA peel from Makeupartistschoice.com and plan to do it week after next so I will let you know how it goes. I have used retin a for many years and it has helped with some lines and spots, but this will be my first peel. I will try to take before and after pic too.

Well, I did the 8% peel today with two layers, so I guess that makes it 10% strength. The first layer had almost no burn. The 2nd layer had some burn but not that bad. I didn't really frost but don't think I was supposed to since it is low strength. I took a before pic but will wait to post until I have the after. My skin felt very smooth after and I got a couple dry areas on my cheeks. I also used the 5 acid body peel on my chest, arms, and back. I got just a couple tingles from it and my skin was very smooth after shower. I use Glytone shower gel too and it is the best for keeping smooth skin. Hopefully I will have some good results to post!

Well, it has been a week and I am very happy with results. I peeled for about four days but it was a better peel than from using retin a. The peel really helped clear some jawline breakouts. I would like to post before and after pics but not sure how from my iPad.

Hi Robinssa! That sounds awesome!!! I wish I could help you with posting images from your iPad, but since I'll be getting my first one this Christmas, I can't help you yet! I'd love to see your pictures!!! <3

As for me, I did mine (15%) this past Wednesday night around 9pm (when the hubs was asleep). So, I guess that would be about 3 days ago-ish? I MEGA frosted in one area, semi-frosted in two others, and then turned chicken and neutralized my little heart out. So, I'm not 100% sure if I really did a "full-face" peel or not. I guess time will tell.

Meanwhile, the area that REALLY frosted is brown and super fugly ~ did you ever see "Darkman?" Remember how saran wrap-y and puckered his skin looked? Yeah ... I make HIM look pretty. o_O  I was VERY bad and apparently I picked in my sleep ~ I have a couple of small areas that were de-skinned prematurely, and look really red and irritated.

Frankly, I'm at the point where I just want it to freakin' peel and be freakin' DONE with. I already have serious OCD issues (when a family member gets a sunburn, my fingers damned nigh itch to peel the peeling skin off ~ drives the family crazy 'cause I'll just LOOK at them in that way) and watching my skin flake here and there is making me NUTS.

Anyway, I'll keep this thread updated ... please, you do that, too, Robinssa!! <3<3<3
