Top Tips For Eyes with make-up artist Paula Fay If you've always wondered how to make the most of your eyes, here's a fool-proof guide to give you confidence you need to look anywhere you dare! Jessica Ann Majekodunmi and Paula Fay go through exactly what you need through equipment, make-up, technique, and colouring. Beauty is truly in the 'eyes' of the beholder as they say! Fill in your eyebrows with eyeshadow using an angle brush as opposed to an eye pencil as this results in a more natural effect. Lightly apply loose powder under the eye when applying eyeshadow; when the colour falls onto the skin under the eye it can be swept away easily with a powder brush. Concealer is always better than foundation as a base beneath eyeshadow. Concealers with orange undertones most effectively cancel out under-eye shadows. As a rule use one shade lighter than your foundation. Apply a soft white pencil around the rim of the eye to make your eyes look brighter and wider. Curling your lashes open up your eyes. If you're going for a natural look, try using curlers with clear mascara – a great cheat to give the impression of no effort! Luckily today there is a wide range of not so scary and easy to use curlers available. For the best results, apply mascara in a zigzag motion starting from the base of your lashline to the tip. Remember to replace your mascara at least every three months. Selecting Your Eyeshadow: Make–up artist Paula Fay admits that the latest colours in eyeshadow ranges can be overwhelming (compared to the traditional boring brown brown brown), so here's a guide to match the newest shades with your own eye colour. Eye colour Eyeshadow: Blue orange / peach Green red / purple Hazel yellow Brown green / gold But let's face it, sometimes we just don't have the time (or the energy) to carefully select and blend colours, so when in a hurry apply a base colour to the eye and then mascara. Paula Fay recommends a beige for the day or a subtle bronze for the evening and these shades will match any eye colour. Article taken from fashion.ie
