Wedding Makeup Advice....

Hi, new to this board and looking forward to much needed help and advice from the pros!  Our son is getting married this October.  Found the perfect dress, so what's the problem??  Well, the color of the dress is gold/beige, almost if you will, a "hay" color.  Now, it has been a long time since I have had to "doll" myself up, but I want to look smashing, not frightening for this event and in pics.  I am blonde/blue eyes.  What shadow, and nail polish color will compliment this dress?  Also, since I am 50, my lashes have weakend and are fragile, are false ones a little to over the top for this?  I come from an era where coordinating in matching colors was the thing to do, but obviously, that is not the way to go anymore...lol....I guess what I am looking for is a look that will make me look like "mom", just "hot mom" for the day.  Thanks for your help and look forward to the replies!

soz593 eye shadow for that dress should be gold,nail polish should be a soft,sparkly,gold,and false lashes would not be over the top for you,it would just be perfect.

Eye shadows in the gold/bronze/beige families will bring out your blue eyes and will compliment the color of your dress. Look for nail polishes in similar shades. I would use a bronze and brown smokey eye and nude lip with that dress. A natural false lashes will add more depth to your eyes without looking too dramatic. As for nail polish, I would always go for a sheer cream colored polish. It's very simple but elegant for any occasion.
