Weird Smell!!

I got up this morning with a bad headache and went shopping with my wife... and while we were out I blew my nose a few times in a tissue... When I went to blow my nose later I noticed a wierd smell on the tissue... Like where the hell has this tissue been... a rotten smell... and I realized it was the smell from when I blew my nose earlier... Sure enough that same rotten smell occures every time I blow my nose today... Wierd...

Anyone ever have that happen? I don't feel sick or like I have a sinus infection but I have never had a nasal discarge smell before... ever!!

It's probably mucas draining down from your sinus passages; hate to say it but you'll probably be coming down with a bad sinus infection in the next few days. I'd start taking some anti-biotics, now, and be sure to drink hot tea and get lots of rest.

Ohh great!!! Funny too... I was setting next to another engineer in the truck yesterday... While out inspecting the conveyor belt and he was caughinh and saying how he can't seem to shake what ever he had...

Just what I need to get sick when I have the rest of the year off!! Lol.

that's kinda weird but a while back i had the same problem except with me it was smoke and/or rotten trash, it was the weirdest thing, like at weird times out of no where i could smell sewage or smoke like burnt flesh, i read up on it on the web and thats actually a disorder it also happens when people loose their sense of smell, i even read peoples posts on the matter and how they have even gone months and years with these weird smells and nothing was really of help, with me thank God it eventually went away, but it did last a couple of months, so hopefully with you it will go away too and soon, the thread suggested nasal rinse, they sell at cvs which pretty much cleanses all your nose and sinusis. good luck. oh and it can also be the mucus draining in the back of your throat so when you blow you can like taste it or smell it.

He/she will know what's best for treat sinus infection (since there are drugs that have better action on other places than respiratory tract).

Yep. If you aren't feeling like a sinus infection yet, My bet is that you will. Sorry. Go get some antibiotics now before it gets worse. Hope ya don't start feeling crappy now.

Thanks!! Well today I'm still a bit nasally but strangely the smell has gone away... Like I cleared it out of my system yesterday? Very strange... Have never experienced that before.... But I feel fine...

When I read this, it reminded me of Rosie's tooth thread..

"the tooth has been dead for some time, and also, that the dead material has either escaped upward and been blown out of my nose (ewwww)"
