What do YOU do with them?

ok, all those little plastic bags with buttons, extra thread and stuff you get on some new clothes?? how many of you actually keep them?

my mum has a button box which is the only reason I don't throw them in the bin - they're the kind of thing that ends up getting lost and you find them down the back of a drawer 3 years after you've thrown the item of clothing away.

But how do you feel about them? do you keep them? if so, where? in a special place, or just strewn around the place? I just bought new pants with a bag with spare buttons in so now I want to see what all my MUT people would do with them, LOL

I throw them away - I never had to use the extra set.

In the past I use to throw them away or I would lose them somewhere in the house. One time I actually lost a button and couldn't find the extra one. Now I keep spare buttons, threads etc in a small box just in case I need them. I store the box on the top shelf in my closet so I can access it easily.

i actually snap the little bag off and throw them somewhere in my room. I usually keep them around but never use them and even if i did need one i wouldnt be able to find it. lol

I usually throw them away but if its not your average plain round button(i.e. star shaped, heart shaped) I keep them

I only keep them for specific clothing items... I don't care about a missing button on a button-down shirt, but I do care about it on a jacket or pair of pants. Something that can be hidden, not a biggie.

..ya know....dont ever remember ever finding the right one (if any)whenever I needed it though... just end up using a safty pin....(if I can find one of those eather)

I keep them. They are stored in a shoe box in my closet. Gotta start a new box though....the one I have now is overflowing.

I keep them, but I probably couldn't find the specific one if I really had to replace a button someday. Actually, this wasn't so random question after all. I just purchased a winter coat and was thinking that I really should start throwing those extra things in the same box.

Keep them in a little button basket type thing my mom has, if we dont use them to fix the clothes they were intended to fix, we use them for other stuff, like decoraitng a purse or making toys for our pets.

haha, the next important question should be, do you check through the basket to make sure that the buttons left in it are from clothes you still have!

haha I know it was a weird question but those little bags always turn up in a room clearout and it just got me thinking.. and it was late... LOL

I keep them all. I have a large, multi-tiered sewing kit box that I keep that stuff in. IT has come in handy more than once, so I'm glad I don't throw them out.

I have a fancy little box on one of my night stands that is stuffed with these things......and of course I've never used one!
