Recently I have been trying out all different combinations of lip color, after watching my make up artist. I love the different colors I can achieve with my mineral make up, and just as you blend colors on your eyes, how you can get different looks on your lips!! I had on a killer combo earlier today, a purplish lip liner, a pink lip stick, some shinier pink mineral powder on top of that, and a clear lip shine. Wow!! I have even tried a black liner, with a gold lip shine, and then on top of that gold mineral make up. I have a lot of fun with the different color combos...is there any great combinations you have come up with?

There was one really killer pink that I was wearing all summer long.

It was:

NYC Jumbo Lip Pencil in "Sublime", I used that as a liner, and then filled in the lips.

Then on top of that, I used NYC "Rose Gold", just one light coat.

Then to finish is off, I used MAC "Prr" in a light coat.

Altogether it was no thicker than a normal application of lipstick, but the color was totally poppin'! I loved it. It was one of the better summer colors I've worn over the years.

I love using a brown pencil to line, Mac Viva Glam V, and Dior a sip of Lemonade on top to give more shine.

no pics because no battery (dad is also eyeing me bad, like "what is she doing she needs to take pics of it?"), but my combo is : sephora lipliner n°138, sephora n°91 lipstick and Urban Decay hotpants lipgunk, turns the thing into a beautiful purple. except i had to throw the lipgunk in the garbage so i have to find a dupe.

I agree with Karren! I really want to see pics of these combos!

I don't really like to mix things because I don't really like how gloss looks on me, so I'm always wearing lipsticks only.

my fav combos are:

milani pencil in bon fire, lined with tropez pencil in buttered rum - gives me the hottest fire engine red lip!

milani pencil in mauve a mia, lined with mary kay pencil in plum, topped with vsc lipstick in champagne - gives me a soft mauvey-lilac lip

milani pencil in mauve a mia, lined with mary kay pencil in plum, topped with vsc lipstickin pandora's box - slightly neon lilac/mauve

milani pencil in mahogony, lined with tropez pencil in buttered rum, topped with vsc champagne - my best nude lip look

i use my mineralogie lipgloss in ruby rose over any of these and get and entirely different hue with shimmer.

No matter how dumb this can look i do love it. I love to do a very light brown liner around my lips with a rosy nude color in the middle. It really brings out the shape of my lips and as long as i don't do a heavy liner application, it actually looks really pretty.

Ooh - I was dinking around just yesterday and ended up with this combo:

Black eyeliner to create a new lip shape - lined outside my natural line a little, and turned the corners up a bit.

Filled in with StyliStyle lipstick in Unity, which they describe as "cranberry pink" but baby, this is fuschia with a blue cast! maybe similar to fun n sexy from fafi/mac? Not sure, haven't seen that in real life

Blended the Unity with a brush over the black edges - got a lovely purply gradient.

Applied a liberal layer of Aromaleigh Rocks! in livewire in the center of top and bottom lip. Patted it on, it' didn't fill in the texture of my lips, rather accentuated it, which I rather liked.

Patted Aromaleigh Rocks! boilingpoint over the rest of the lip to intensify the fuschia.

Topped the whole thing with a drizzle (seriously - just loading the brush and letting it drip onto the lips - felt horrible, looked cool) of Sally Hansen plumping stuff in a crystal clear. Only clear liquid gloss I had. I don't like it.

Looked neat - here's a pic:

I thought of you sephoras girl when I did it!

But for every day life, my lips are pretty "normal". I'm not blessed with a buxom pout, so I stick with fairly mundane colors. I always use a highlighting pencil on my cupids bow and philtrum to emphasize the shape, outline with Loreal Barely Pink lip pencil (same color as my lips) fill in to give a good base, the apply lipstick on top. Usually Mac 3D, Fresh Moroccan, Profusion, or an Aromaleigh lipstick in Nuance or Crush, sometimes Tender for a no lipstick look. I love Aromaleigh glosses - Enthrall is a favorite. Also love the ones from The Balm - Cherry my Cola, Melt My Chocolate and Hottie my Toddie are my usual choices.
