I just bought a stila smudgepot and I've never used gel liner before...

what shaped brush should I buy to use with it? I was thinking an angled brush? or maybe a tapered brush kind of like a lip brush.

what would you guys recommend?

I think you should try both. lol I keep going back and forth although i prefer the pencil point type. Today I actually took out my slanted brush to see if i like it better. I think it really depends on you.

I don't really like angled brushes... so I'd go with the second choice. I use a really fine little brush with my MAC Fluidline.

i have a few brushes... it's all about the type of line you like. i actually like using a lip brush to be honest, when doing a smudgier line with a gel/creamliner but i also love using a very thin sharp angled brush as well for a really defined line.

its all up to you but i like using a slanted brush, it gives me a line that isnt too thin or too thick and it gives me that nice wing at the end

Try the Bloom Angled Eye Liner brush or the M.A.C 266 brush

thanks guys.. I have both an angled brush and a pointed one but they're my shadow brushes. I'll have to go see what the stores have next time Im in the city

hmm. im guessing the smudgpot is similar to mac's fluidline? with fluidline, i use the thin, pointed eyeliner brush to get a small precision line, but when i want a thick, dark dramatic line, i use a lip brush!

hope that helps!

I use MAC's 209 brush for my gel and cream liners. I have a slanted, but I prefer it for putting eyeshadow on the lower lashline.

I use a rounded Posh brush for gel liners. I do have an angled and flat brush, but I reach for it a lot more. Not to mention, it's smaller too, which for me, helps with application.

Hi

I would try either a flat edge brush or and flat angle brush. Pointed eyeliner brushes work well too.
