What to look for in a Dermatologist/spa for facials?

I'm thinking about going to a dermatologist to get my face checked out. I want to see what they would recommend since Proactiv isn't working for me anymore.

I would also like to go to a salon/spa for facials since I hear that's a good way to help your skin with deep cleaning facials, micodermabrasion, etc.

But what should I look for when trying to hunt a derm and salon down? I don't want them to mess up my skin even more since it's a delicate thing to do and work on.

I live in a touristy city, so there's hotels that have spas that do facials. I looked around some websites, and the regular/deepcleaning ones are about $80. Are there other types of places that gives facials, etc. besides spas at hotels?

If you go to a spa that's with a hotel to get a facial done it's usually pretty high end and can be pricey because of the location. Typically spas do charge around $80. Facials are a great way to keep the skin in good shape but the key is to find a good facialist who is certified. I believe it's harder to find a certified facialist here in the US than it is in Europe. I used to get facials done all the time in Finland and my skin looked awesome. They require more training and schooling to be able to do facials in Europe than here. I've had a couple of facials here and they have been nothing compared to the ones I'm used to having in Europe. I would recommend that you go to see a dermatologist instead because a dermatologists trully knows about skin and they are qualified to treat skin conditions.
