Hey guys, I just thought I would let you know about this neat little trick I figured out for applying winged eyeliner to hooded eyes. See, my hood is so heavy that even when I look down in a mirror there's a crease that prevents me from drawing a straight line. So instead what I tried doing is applying it using a straight flat eyeliner brush, just tapping it in to place instead of trying to draw a straight line. It works! I can go over my crease now without the eyeliner going crazy on me. I'm including some pictures of my first shot at this. I tried to make the line blend in with my lashes, but I found it was so high up and so long that it would just look weird to do that triangle shape you normally do when winging eyeliner that makes the line look fluid (thick at one end skinny at the other). Next time I'm going to try to make the line shorter so I can tap out the triangle shape. So what do you think?

Thank you for posting about this! I have hooded eyes too and that's such a pain! I tend to lift my eyebrows when doing my makeup and my cat eye will look fantastic, then when i lower my brow the excess skin almost completely covers it up. I've had to make an effort to draw it on with relaxed eyes so you can actually see the wing lol.

you can see my wing got covered up by my crease as soon as I relaxed my eyes.

Now I make an effort to extend it out past the excess skin and swoop it up higher so it's visible no matter what.

Yes, I've found it does a lot better with relaxed eyes too. I just had problems when dealing with the fold and the way my skin dips down, so I thought of this to help, and it really does help. Now I want to try an angled flat eyeliner brush... it seems like it would be more flexible than the regular flat brush.

These are great tips! Mine are hooded too and I have given up on winging it out.. But I love The shape of this.. Guess I can try again. LOL What liner is that?

Thanks! This is Urban Decays 24/7 pencil liner in Gunmetal. I really love their pencil and liquid liners because they don't smudge or melt in the creases of my eyes. Don't give up just play around until you find a technique that works for you! :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I love their liner! I have a bunch of the travel liners and the 15th anniversary set and then two of the new liquids and a few if the older ones. It's almost a relief that the last few seasons of makeup haven't been as exciting to me cause I have such a hard time resisting!! Ha ha Anyway, i'm wearing Flipside today.. I usually wear a thicker line across the lash line and tight line with a black gel. I'll keep trying to wing it though :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I have also hooded eyes, and beside that, I have a little bit sad puppy eyes (as you can see on my avatar lol)
