Unless you’ve been living in a bubble, it should’t be news to you that today is Halloween. Hopefully you’ve been prepping your costume for a while now, but if you’re anything like me, you might be scrambling around last minute, trying to think of a costume you can throw together.
Luckily, you’re not the only one. Ther’s a whole thread devoted to last minute ideas. Below, I’ve compiled some of my favorite member ideas, as well as a few costume ideas of my own. Good luck, and may you get your costume done in time!
If you have a good makeup stash, you can easily go as a toy doll without too much prep. For your outfit, simply find your cutest, frilliest dress and pair with tights or stockings. After applying foundation to your face, go very heavy on the red or pink blush ““ you can even apply it in a very defined circle. Use mascara (or even false eyelashes) to get long lashes, and use a brown or black eyeliner to draw large, separated, fake eye lash lines above and below the eye. Put your hair in pigtails and practice your blank look ““ you’re a toy doll!
This idea come straight from MUT member page5 – she suggests going as a French painter all night! All you need to wear is an over-sized button-up shirt, so raid the closet of the favorite guy in your life. Use cardboard to make a paint palette, and use markers or paint to draw in paint splatters. Wear a black beret, and use washable eyeliner to draw thin mustache and gotee. Page5 even gives a good tip for staying in character ““ “Talk with a French accent all night.”
Although it’s been done before, it’s still an easy costume – dress up as everyone’s favorite cast member of the soon-to-be cancelled “Jersey Shore.” If you’ve got some old foundation lying around that’s much too orange, use it to give yourself a temporary fake tan. Tease your hair into her trade mark bump, and just go crazy with your make-up: the more glamorous and outrageous, the better. Add a twist to this typical parody costume by going as pregnant Snooki!
