Are You New to Memebox?

Recommended Posts

Update from a new addict:  my very first Memebox, Pinkaholic, arrived today and I LOVE everything in it!

A pink lip crayon, a pink eyeshadow crayon, cleansing water, pink highlighter, a night cream, and a balm

-- all products that I will use and use.  Impressed with the big sizes, too.

I discovered memebox around three weeks ago and have already purchased Skincare Elixir, Dry and Sensitive Skin and Petite Treasures.

I'm pretty excited to receive them although I do wish memebox posted more spoilers or just more of a explanation of what the box will actually contain.

Hi,

Just joined as received my first 3 Memeboxes yesterday!! I live in Scotland so wasn't sure whether the products would suit my skin type (pale blue!) but am thrilled with what I've received so far. I love the Lisa Pullano box - I received the lavender lipstick and was worried it would be "BRIGHT" but its actually a lovely shade. My little girl (4) already has her eye on the macaroon lip balm!! Thankfully I've ordered her a disney Frozen make-up set so she "might" leave mummy's stuff alone!

Waiting on My Cute Wishlist 3 and the Halloween box to be delivered now!

Hey! I'm super new to Memebox, I just bought my first 3 this weekend :P I have a few questions though. I've been lurking the forum here for a few day and I noticed people talking about how many boxes are still in stock. How do you see how many boxes are still available? With the VIP program, do you have to wait 3 months to qualify for VIP even if you buy more than 5 in the first month? And for my last question, what days do they come out with new boxes? I think I read Monday Wednesday and Friday but I can't find the post where I read that so I wanted to make sure here so I know what days to watch for new boxes :) thanks guys!

tamel, yes, new ones come out M-W-F.  I don't have VIP status yet, but I've found that I can see the VIP pricing early and use it if I stalk the boards here and see what new boxes the members are talking about, then do a search on the Memebox site for that box.  For example, yesterday morning when I went to the Memebox site, I didn't see new ones yet but people here were talking about new ones called Empress and Cleopatra.  Doing a search on Memebox for either of those names brought them up and I was able to add them to my cart at the early (VIP?) pricing.  However, as I was adding my billing info, the combo I wanted sold out at that pricing so I didn't get them.

I had to ask how people know how many boxes are available too.  It's a matter of trying to add multiples to your cart, such as 50 or 100, and seeing what happens and what the site says.  Just tried it, and on the Empress box, it would let me add 30 boxes but not 35, so the number left is 30 to 34.

p.s.  tamel, sorry I don't know about when the VIP status kicks in.  I have to buy one more box before I reach that, I think.  Want to wait and see what they come out with tomorrow!

In regards to VIP status...I joined Memebox in mid July, by the end of the month I had purchased several boxes, and on August 1st I received my Congratulations VIP email. So it kicks in at the very beginning of the month after you reach the 5 box requirement.

However, Memebox apparently counts value sets as only one box. So if you buy 3 singular boxes and a value set with 2 boxes, you won't qualify for VIP status.

Hi everyone,

I finally decided to join memebox early October and I have already ordered 10 boxes. I think I am well on my way to be qualified as a memebox addict

I want to thank you all for keeping me up to date with all the latest offers, restocks, and news  :luv:  Time for me to go back to lurking  :D

So when we are greeted with the new boxes of lotions and potions and make up how do we know what is in date .

Well generally Korean and Asian skincare , cosmetics, make up will have the date underneath or on the box - this is the manufacture date

Asian products don't tend to have a use by date on them but another memeber has posted this little tip with added symbols so keep it on your notes on your phone for easy reach

New to Memebox (actually to Korean skincare).

Just out of curiosity, if anyone knows.....I have a Skinfood store and a The Face Shop very close to me.  I know Skinfood is a brand.  Is The Face Shop a brand too, or does it also carry other brands?  I haven't been to either store yet.  The pictures of The Face Shop (which is inside a Korean grocery store) show a lot of products.   I want to try a variety of brands so I'm looking for my best option.  If I can find some of this stuff locally it would be great.

Thanks!

Yes. The Face Shop is a brand just like SkinFood.

I am assuming you are located in Vegas? If so Amore Cosmetics sells a wide variety of Korean brands.

Actually my avatar is misleading...I love Las Vegas but live in Irvine (a suburb of Los Angeles that has a very large Asian population).  I don't know why I'm so intimidated to just show up and start looking around.  I usually just go to the market to get a jumbo sized kimchi and don't shop around much (sometimes the live fish that you buy for dinner freaks me out a bit!)

We also have a Japanese "dollar store" (really $1.50 but some really fun finds) and a Japanese grocery store that has a cosmetic section.

I think I'll just bite the bullet and hit up the various stores and cosmetic departments and see what I can find....I'm totally into this whole Korean skin care ritual that I've finally heard about!

I'm very new to memebox, like in "haven't ordered a signle box yet". I've been eyeing Foot Therapy Box (Memebox #77), and it looks like now it's out of stock. Does Memebox ever restock sold out boxes?

@@Elena K They do restock boxes every so often. But they go very fast.

The boxes that are on the site now are all restocks from Black Friday.

Some of them sold out in minutes!

Best way to find out when the restocks happen is to watch the main Memebox thread.

Usually someone spots the restocks WAY before Memebox announces them.

I am eagerly awaiting my first 3 memeboxes! I am curious as to what the cyber Monday deal might be... Any clues? I am trying to decide whether to use the black Friday sale or wait. It seems the black Friday shop sale was US based. Do you think cyber Monday will be solely Global store?

    • A good steamer does not have to be available at the spa. You can bring home the best facial steamer and have a great steaming session at the comfort of your home. All you have to do is to follow the right set of rules to get high-end results.    Bring home the best facial steamer from the store. Read the user manual carefully. Before you turn it on, give your face a good wash and do not apply anything. Keep your hair away from the face by neatly wrapping it.  Use normal tap water inside the steamer, turn it on, and wait for vapors to arise. Keep the steamer almost 6-8 inches away from your face. Align your face to get the steam vapors.  Take the steam vapors for a minute and move your face away from it for half a minute. Continuously taking the steam over the face may leave your skin burnt.  Start off your cleansing session and pull out all the black and whiteheads.  Dab a clean towel to remove the water droplets on your face and then apply a good moisturizer.
    • No Buy Program Guide   I found a great new No Buy channel on YouTube (well it found me; it was in my recommended videos), a new No Buy channel from a New York concert pianist, Natalia Lavrova. I find this fascinating, because I love the world of classical music. Here is someone in my dream life, who loves shopping, and beauty subscriptions, who has credit card debt, and is doing a No Buy! I'll be fascinated to watch this channel and hear how this artist's No Buy goes as she is preparing for concert tours abroad! Ms. Lavrova has a really good Shop My Stash video with great tips on winter makeup colors, like icy pink highlighter. I looked for her piano performances on YouTube and they are stunning. This is going to be a big inspiration for me!
    • I made it through the night with no buying! I slept through the shopping craving like it was an illness. I woke up after the 12 hours of sleep and as I was waking up I thought of a happy time in the 90's. I was young; all my family members were alive. I was at a Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies, (I love James Bond and don't know what I am going to do when his new film is released, since I'm not allowed money for entertainment on my No Buy). On the floor near my feet was a big bag of Estee Lauder products that I had just gotten with my birthday and Christmas money. I had a full size moisturizer and a huge PWP, beautiful. The film had a great ending. The Bond girl was underwater, running out of air, and just in time, there's James Bond, the theme music resumes! Great scene! And walking around the mall after, how happy I felt! And today I am sad that time is gone, many family members are gone, life is sadder, time is running out, and I did not use that bag of Estee Lauder products up! I probably used them a few times and then threw them out and bought something else. And maybe if I had used every drop, in my mind, I could have held on to life, to time, to happiness. At any rate I would have had more money. If only we knew about No Buys and Project Pans then! This is just one of a million examples of how I think about this.  When I woke up Elle S was still analyzing her samples! She was talking about how her project taught her to evaluate (excellent video, Oct 1, 2017).  Last night in bed I took some photos of samples I need to use up. Sorry for so many long posts, but I've really had to work on this for the last 24 hours. Primers, shower gels and body scrub, toners, and masques.
    • I haven't given in and bought anything yet, though I wanted to. I went to bed early (I think it was 5 pm), and I was listening to Elle S 365 Days of Samples playlist on YouTube. It is inspiring. Elle is detailed, persevering, and creative. I was very cozy, and I dreamed I was going to a spa in Europe. I was so excited about the spa, and about the skin care products the spa was going to have in the room for us. My mother was going with me, and I told her I was going to bring a minimal amount of beauty products in my suitcase, because we would be getting some from the spa. When I woke up I was sad, because the dream was so nice. Now I just woke up and I'm hot and thirsty, but the craving to shop has gone down somewhat. Before I went to sleep I looked in my sample boxes. I saw a beautiful mini lotion with a gold bow on the package that I got for Christmas and had already forgotten about. The glittery gold bow sparkled beautifully in the light.  This while experience today of realizing I have been on No Buy so long without realizing it has been interesting. I have been keeping busy with other things. I began going to a a new religious congregation a month after I went back on No Buy (a different religion I wanted to learn about for a long, long time) and have been busy with that, and have been making new friends and socializing more. The new religion is one that fills my need for intellectual and artistic (through its liturgy) stimulation. I've met wonderful people. It's not always easy to keep going there, as I'm shy and reclusive, but I've kept it up. Maybe this is what made the time go so fast without me knowing it.  I guess I'll go and listen to some more 365 Days of Samples.
    • I'm changing the way I keep track of the time on my No Buy in order to motivate myself more. I didn't realize until today that I'm in month 8 of my second year! Four and a half months until completion of Year 2! I want to finish my mini sample products by June 12, 2020. Here is a partial inventory: Shampoo minis - all used up! Face cream, and face cleanser minis - all used up after a great deal of work and patience!  Mini body scrubs - 1  Mini shower gels - 7 Mini face primers - 8 Mini toners - 9 Mini face masques - 12 I still have to add up mini body creams, hair conditioners, and perfumes. I should reorganize them all to get a new perspective.
