Circular Swap - Who's in?

Recommended Posts

Hi gals, quick update. Got the box tonight I'll post pics of what I'm taking and putting in tomorrow (working on that tonight!)

We had one casualty, the revlon quad has a busted shadow :( so I'll take the items out of the bag (good thing it was bagged up) and clean them up (they're covered in pink eyeshadow dust).

More Updates soon!

Here's what I'm taking out:

Here's what I hope to add, plus some other goodies:

I say *hope* because I haven't actually tried to fit this in the box yet. I just pulled everything and consolidated. I want to make sure stuff has enough padding so we don't have another shadow bust or bottle open. I'll work on pack up tonight. Plan to ship to @@dotybird tomorrow and she should have it by Friday!

Wow!  How full is that box?  Because that looks like a lot more going in than being taken out!  Good luck playing Tetris and fitting all of it!

Oh I hate that about the eyeshadow, sorry I thought I played box tetris better than that. I guess it was quite a bumpy ride to VA from Nashville.

Great choices, hope you can pack everything in you want to add....if not save for the next round!

I noticed @@ChullBird wanted to get in on this...if it's okay with @@Reija and others, she can have my spot.  My girls just started pre-k and k in a new school and the extra back to school expenses are turning out to be more than I planned for.   If switching places is against the rules that is fine too!

perfectly fine to switch places @@lauradiniwilk :) The school expenses can really get you. We just got done having to pay preschool (our youngest is going to Kindergarten this fall) after so many years between all the kids but I had to buy school supplies for all 3 and sports etc.

Hope you can be on the next round @@lauradiniwilk

I'm not sure, how does it work?

A round robin train:

Same as circular swap in that there is an order picked and all follow that same order.  The difference is that each person starts a box and sends it on the same day. The boxes move along in the planned order and when each person's box goes all the way back to it's originator, the train ends.  So if there are ten people participating, ten boxes are moving along at the same time.

Wow that sounds really cool!

I think we could look into starting one of these soon!

I actually was able to fit most of the stuff in my picture above in the box. I couldn't fit the black and white makeup clutch though since it's a little bulky. Box Tetris was hairy but I hope that means you ladies down the road will find some new goodies!

I also, threw in some candy to keep everyone's energy up while circular swapping.

Thanks!  My girls both just finished daycare (woohoo!) but are now in private school so my monthly expenses are actually going up, plus school supplies, uniforms, sports, etc. etc. etc. are making this month tough.  I have pared way down on my subs but am still a little worried about the new budget!  I am definitely enjoying watching everyone else trade though!

Don't forget to include the instigator!  :-)  I learned of this when I was heavily into couponing.  We used to do trains all the time--regular and round robin.  The round robin was so much fun because there were so many options coming along.  Also we would go around and then go backwards the second time so that we were 'receiving' from a different person (who presumably had different types of items to share).

You might have to be awarded the tetris queen!

    • I made another payment on my credit card, and the remaining balance is now $140.  Yves Rocher Beauty Advent Calendar so far:  Day 1 - Sel D'Azur perfume - I've been wanting to try something from Yves Rocher's extensive line of new perfumes. This one is meant to evoke a walk on the Amalfi coast, with citrus and sea salt.  Day 2 - First Snowflakes Shower Gel - One of the new limited edition holiday products. This is lovely! It's white almond, but less sweet and more powdery than the Perlier White Almond, which I also love. I might have to get the big bottle!  Day 3 - Cream shampoo with avocado - also a new product I haven't tried yet. Very good shampoo that brings out natural waves.  Day 4 - Four sided nail file - A good file that really is effective.  Day 5 - Micellar water for sensitive skin.  Day 6 - Clear base coat for nails.  Day 7 - Face cream for sensitive skin.  I had a really hard time going back to work after Thanksgiving. But after Monday, it's been quite slow, thank goodness. They are allowing people to volunteer to leave early. I never do, even though I feel tired and burned out, because I'm so focused on my financial goals. I have been watching a vlogmas on You Tube from the channel iseedee. This is a Swedish girl who is frugal yet glamorous, and has inspired me in my No Buys. Her vlogmas (or Christmas Countdown 2019 as she calls it), is simple yet so beautiful and cozy. She is so organized, and really knows how to celebrate the holidays. She makes a simple Saturday of doing laundry and going grocery shopping seem special. I guess she personifies what you would call Hygge. iseedee is going through The Body Shop Beauty Advent Calendar. She has the big one with the full sized items. This is the only vlogmas I've been keeping up with.  I've been Christmas shopping (for other people, not for myself, lol), and also I'm going to be organizing the buffet at my church later this month. So I don't think I can pay any more on my credit card until Boxing Day. That's the day I am hoping to pay it off!!! After that I might buy myself a little treat or two, and then organize my plan for the New Year.
