I am being driven insane by foundations. I have combo skin that is VERY dry except for the T-zone which depending on time of year/hormones can be normal to oily. My cheeks also have a lot of texture and redness and always have.
Despite a strict skin-care regimen I've come up with for my sensitive, dry skin (Mary Kay, Paula's Choice, and Tarte) every time I wear any sort of foundation or CC cream after 10 minutes my skin looks DISGUSTING. It looks extremely dry and powdery, despite the fact I only put a small amount of translucent powder on my T-zone. My concealer looks cakey and creased (I'm only 21, I really don't have wrinkles yet!) It honestly ages me by 20 years and is so embarassing!
I always use a moisturizer before applying any makeup as well as a hydrating primer. I apply all foundation and concealer with a damp beauty blender in a stippling motion. At the end I set everything with urban decay chill makeup setting spray.
At this point I've just about lost hope. Off the top of my head, I've Tarte, Urban Decay, Clinique,It Cosmetics CC cream, and Mary Kay. Both the foundation and the CC cream. Mary Kay's CC cream is definitely the best but still isn't totally there and doesn't have enough coverage for when I want to go full-glitz. I love to do bold eyes and it just looks weird and unfinished with my freckles and redness showing through full force. So, anyone out there. I am despise for a med-full coverage foundation for extremely dry skin that won't make me look chalky or wrinkly. I also really hate matte finishes. Natural or dewy is ideal.
