see the video here!

Beyoncé was confronted Thursday night at the swanky restaurant Nobu in New York City by two members of People For the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The two had won an eBay auction, benefiting VH1's Save the Music Foundation, to dine with the star. Beyoncé had no idea they were PETA members.

TMZ obtained video of the confrontation, shot by PETA, taped inside the restaurant. As they sat at the table, Beyoncé, who has a fashion line with her mother that uses fur, had no idea what was coming. After placing their orders, the PETA members confronted the singer.

The PETA members then pulled out a portable DVD player and began playing a tape of Pamela Anderson's attack on the fur industry, which highlights graphic footage of the process of killing animals for their fur.

Also present at the table -- Beyoncé's mother Tina and her sister Solange.

The PETA members were swiftly escorted out of the restaurant. Beyoncé and her relatives stayed inside.

Calls to Beyoncé's reps were not immediately returned

I believe strongly in the freedom of choice, speech, etc.................I have a few strong beliefs of my own, but, as our military puts it, the "Shock and Awe" method is a little over the top and only gives groups like PETA a bad name. Which is a shame because it really is a good cause. It's just that there are ways of getting your message and beliefs heard in peaceful tones other than the dramatics played out in this instance. It's difficult to take someone seriously when they are ranting. Talk to me in a civil tone or give me some written material to read explaining your stand and I might read it, but if you scream in my face, you have a snowballs chance in hell of me listening to you.

she just sat there stunned! i guess that's the last time she'll ever auction herself off for lunch with fans!

Wow, talk about "in her face" pretty rude imo..

I don't understand that kind of approach either. How do you win someone over to your cause by accosting them and putting them in an embarrassing situation? PETA needs to rethink their strategy, because they make themselves out to be the bad guys, rather than the other way around.

PETA members should at least let Beyonce finish her lunch first...geez, the last thing i'd want to do is eat some chicken or beef while watching a vid of animal killings. Ugh, sick...

Way to go PETA!

... I looove animals But i think peta needs to research exactly what fur she uses. The only fur i've seen was chinchilla and mink. I know nothing about mink but i do know that you dont have to kill a chinchilla to get its fur. They release it when they are scared. Its how they get away from enemies in the wild. I know she was pissed. I think peta went too far.

I hope she doesnt spaz on them and sue for (blah) reason or another.

Peta really needs to hire new PR....most of their tactics are just getting them negative attention. Usually I would say that any attention is good attention, but in this case I think they are hurting support. hahahah, as Im typing this, they just played a video montage for Paul MacCartneys 64th bday....thats timing!!

Her Mom was kinda goin' off there for a minute.....can't blame her because they used being a fan as a cover for the real agenda...just more bad pubilicity for PETA

Took a chance away from real fans just to try to further their cause. Pretty low. Everyone is entitled to their own choice, wear it, eat it or don't. It's an individual's right. No need to go around throwing paint or posing as someone in an attempt to force people to think or be like them.

you know that oddly makes me laugh. i dont agree with a lot of what peta does but this one was awsome. its like well they paid for it. not they're fault.

Where did you get that from? o_O Yes they release fur when they are scared but they do kill a chinchilla for their fur, and the same for any animals that they kill for fur.
.

^^^some companys choose to but there are some that dont. The killing of a chinchilla isnt required. Some people are just cruel and kill them just to do it. For all peta knows the fur she used was fur that had been released from the chin not taken by killing them.

I guess we'll never know though... well unless someone speaks up about it.
