I have a problem with absorbing my facial moisturizers.  After I finish in the morning and night with my routine, I can put my finger on my face and the stuff on my face makes into little balls.  So, I feel like my skin is not absorbing.  I don't overdo it.  I only use a little amount and no matter what I put on my face, I get the same thing.  Currently, this is what I use:

Lancome Visionnaire then,

Oil of Olay Intensive Repair Treatment (on my dark spots on my face only) then,

Lancome DreamTone then,

Robin McGraw Revelation Serum Infused Moisturizing Treatment

I sit in front of a fan and wait a few minutes in between each one before I apply the next one.

Like I said, this combination that I use now has not made any difference.

No matter what I use, my face doesn't absorb the treatment.

Can anyone help me and tell me why?

I don't overuse and rarely have enough to cover my entire face.

I have been using the same 4 bottles now for almost 3 months so I know I am not overusing.

Rarely, I wash my face at night but when I do, I use Robin McGraw's Revelation Night Treatment.

Help?

Washing your face is very important! You want to get all the gunk out of your pores and dead skin off your face before you apply any skincare products. Otherwise your skin will have a hard time absorbing the products.

The order in which you apply your skincare products is also important. Out of the 4 products you mention, I've only used the Visionnaire before. Is the Olay product a facial oil? If it is, it should be used last because facial oils traps in the moisture. If you use it before all your other products, than you are keeping those products from being absorbed into your skin. What are the consistencies of McGraw and Dreamtone product in comparison with the Visionnaire? The general rule is that you apply the most liquidy product first, than the next more liquidy one and so on.

Using a good exfoliating cleanser to open and clean your pores, followed with a serum that will reduce the pore size and allow the moisturizer to penetrate in a deeper layer of the skin should be beneficial.

I recommend trying Elizabeth Arden Prevage boosting cleanser, Flawless Future Serum and Moisturizer....

The serum and moisturizer is very light weight

and Prevage has idebonone in it which is one of the best antioxidants on the market

I likely have the answer to your problem. Didn't look up the others, but here is the Regenerist Intensive Repair Treatment.

Dimenthicone... You are putting silicone on your face. Of course with layers it will form little balls.

It is really good that using face moisturizers. It is helpful in many acne treatment online and found it very helpful. I used it many times and found benefit. But we have to check and use a good product.

candes hit it on the head. You're introducing "dimethicone", a synthetic silicone onto your skin.. It wont be so readily absorbed, nor do you want it to do so..

Plus i could be way off, but your routine is composed of quite a few products... Y not settle on a single product or two that try and do the same jobs that all these things are supposed to do.

You gotta wonder if the combination of all the synthetic ingredients in those products are just caking on top of eachother and creating this yucky frosting all over that poor face...

Im currently using the hangover by lalogy and it has completely replaced the toner, serum and moisturizer routine i used to use...absorbs nicely, i definitely recommend it.
