Hey ladies,

New member here posting for the first time, not too sure what to expect lol.

My girlfriend of 7 months is a huge fan of make up and loves spending tons of time perfecting her make up skills and her look Infront of the mirror. She recently expressed that she wanted a "contour brush", so while she studied today I tried to do all the research and homework I could to find out what this thing is and which one she would need lol.

Needless to say I was lost, and the more i found out the more overwhelmed I became. I learned there was a difference in brushes for liquid vs powder contour, that contour was a kind of make up lol, brands, fiber optic bristles? Lol, different numbers for different size brushes, etc.

I went to Sephora this afternoon and was pretty lost and left empty handed after 20 minutes :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

PLEASE HELP lol

So here are my questions so far....

Im deciding between Hakuhodo and Kevyn Aucoin, as I've read great things about them, are these good choices?

Where's the best places to buy? (Best price?)

How many different types of face contour brushes are there? Do I need to just buy one or many? Lol

Thanks in advance ladies!

I really want to do something nice for her as she's been studying and working so hard as of late, she's been super stressed and I thought this would be a nice little something to make her happy, plus I love this girl and she absolutely deserves it.

Any input would be awesome! Thanks!!!

Stan

Hi! Welcome to MUT! Brushes can be very confusing and there are so many different kinds and new ones being released constantly that it's hard to keep up sometimes even for the makeup obsessed. Kevin Aucoin is a good brand but pricey. Morphe brushes are really good too and a great price. The Sephora Haukudu is a good one too. For contouring I really like the Kat Von D Shade and light contour brush. It works really well and is easy to use. It's double sided which is nice. With brushes it's hard to say what is the best sometimes because they are all pretty similar. It just comes down to the price and the brand. The highest priced isn't always the best. Urban Decay is a good brand too. Hope this helps and hope others have suggestions for you too.

Reija,

Thanks for the input!! I bought her a Kat von D contour pallet not too long ago, I might take your advice on the brush!

Are there different sizes? Would I have to buy a set?

Sorry for all the questions lol.

No it's just one brush by Kat Von D that has two ends. It's called the light and contour brush. It's very versatile and easy to use with the Kat Von d palette. I have the palette too.
