Is there anybody in here who has tried Tom Ford lipsticks as well as the new Lips and Boys version?

I was enabled by my mother (who obviously didn't know the cost of them, lol, or she wouldn't have talked me into getting 2!) over the holidays to get 2 of the colors from the Lips and Boys collection.  I picked Alexander and Patrick.  I received them today and love them.

I remember before though that people tend to either love or hate the Tom Ford formula.  I had initially written off the brand because I didn't think I'd like it based on reviews.  But I love the new little lippies.

So for the sake of enabling me to buy even more colors, I was also curious if they are the same as the full size regular collection?  If so, I'm in trouble haha.

Although the smell reminds me of mac lipsticks, same vanilla like scent.

I ordered Peter, Beau & Holden and am waiting for them to arrive this week.   I have not tried the Tom Ford formula before so I will keep my fingers crossed that I like them.  Of coarse I had to order 3 to get the GWP from Saks (the black case for the lipsticks)

I have 3 Tom Ford lipsticks Indian rose, Casablanca, and pink dust. They are nice but they're definitely not worth $50 apiece. No way. Which is why I didn't try the lips and boys because for 30 some odd dollars and half the amount it really really wasn't worth it. honestly I would be way more likely to buy some Dior Rouge baumes or the YSL kiss and blush, which I adore. YSL kiss and blush two products in one. I adore these they go on a wonderfully. Tom Ford is a way more about the brand name, packaging, and honestly hype. IF it had a drug store name on it I really wouldn't be that surprised. there are some great formulations out there for more than half the price.

Is it me, or are there not very many outrageously good deals out there?

I'm new to makeup, so maybe I'm expecting sales more in line with other types of products that get cut drastically this time of year, but it seems like the time between Black Friday and Christmas is when the better deals were.

I got my Lush "your order is about to ship" email this morning.  Hopefully, everyone who ordered from Lush is seeing some action.  These are my first Lush products so, looking forward to the delivery.

I don't recall there really being any end of year makeup sales - makeup doesn't really go on sale that often tbh. Usually aside from Black Friday/Cyber Monday there's just 1-2 F&F sales every year with the separate brands and then the odd 20% off sephora/ulta coupon. I do most of my buying from sephora and ulta so I don't pay much attention to individual brand sales unless they're those 3 deluxe samples with any purchase promos that kiehls/origins runs once a year.

Macy's has quite a few markdowns on gift sets - perfume, skin care and some makeup.  Marc Jacobs, Estee, Clinique, Philosophy, Origins, Lancôme, Bobbi Brown.

Of course nothing on the Philosophy moisturizer I want - Back to Nurture.

Ah... just a heads up the case is... not spectacular. I'd say. You might love it, but I definitely was let down. I went to Neiman's to see the L&B in person and they showed it to me. It basically the same case the five-lipstick LE set came in, just a smaller version. Meh.

Whew, I am like the anti-enabler today, sorry y'all! <_<

So I heard back from Urban Decay regarding when the requests for Hook-Up cards would be fulfilled and this is what they said :"We will be sending out the Hook-Up Cards in January before the promotion starts."

The period to redeem the cards begins January first, so how do they plan on sending them out in January before the promotion starts?

See, and I'm not crazy about Dior. But I honestly don't think you can expect too much from a creamy lip formula in terms of staying power. I think they're beautiful colors and yes, when you're buying a $50 TF lipstick, you can't ignore that you're buying it for the luxury factor, IMO :)

I am new too, and I was thinking the exact same thing!  Glad I'm not alone on this one! LOL!

Pretty please post some swatches of them when you get them!?  Those are three I am interested in, but swatches so far are kind of hit and miss from the lighting.

Haven't used the Dior Rouge Baume but wore a Dior Rouge Dior Lipstick the other day and it lasted all day and all night, even through A LOT of eating a drinking.

Will do - although the FedEx shipping has now stalled.

Have you seen the reviews/swatches on Temptalia?  I used them to help make up my mind on the colors: http://www.temptalia.com/tom-ford-casey-orlando-peter-stavros-alasdhair-lip-colors-reviews-photos-swatches

We had a discussion here or in the enablers thread a while ago about how temptalia's swatches are never accurate for us lol. Her lighting is too studio-white for real life's yellow (and fluorescent) lighting. Plus her rating system seems a little unreasonable ("this lipstick is horrible because it only lasted 3 hours before I had to reapply") I do look at her swatches of lippies but only to judge the opacity of them based on whether her lip freckle shows or not. Since her lips are much paler than mine, lippies end up a whole different colour on me than on her lol.

ETA: whoops this IS the enablers thread lmao so I meant either here or in the sephora thread

Yeah, I don't even read what she writes lol. When I first started checking her site I was shocked that she would rave about some lipsticks lasting 6-8 hours on her. Then I saw in the comments section that she admitted that in those 6-8 hours, she would sip maybe 1 coffee and not eat or drink anything, and concentrate on not even pressing her lips together. Like... What?!?! 6-8 hours for me entails at least 2 coffees, 8-10 glasses of water, and a big greasy meal. I guarantee my lippie will be gone by the 2nd coffee.

You can get two free Happy minis at Clinique with Happy15, free shipping too.  There are a few moisturizer minis for 5 bucks and you get to pick a free sample at checkout, they had a few options.  So for $5 and some change I got a 15ml Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, 2 mini bottles of Happy and a mini Black Honey lipstick.

    • I didn't tryied the vitimin C serum cream for my skin, I think it very harsh when you are using it at your skin so it would be hard for me to have it I will try something else..
    • Today was pay day. I paid $22.90 extra on my credit card. I realized I'm now halfway done with my goal for the month - to pay $100.00 toward my credit card (including minimum payment). It's halfway through the month, so I am right on track! I made a $30 payment last week. I got deodorant, the only beauty item I need to replace. I ended up not getting the fancy new Secret or an Avon set, but just regular Secret Paris Rose from Dollar General. It was $5 - I thought that was a little high in price. I had this deo before during my No Buys, so it's a tradition. I didn't feel like spending extra or taking the time to order online. Too lazy to fill out the order pages! I sure am out of practice shopping!
    • What am I wishing for right now? Yesterday I was looking at the Yves Rocher French website to see if they have anything new that might come to the US. I found something to love, but not a thing this time. In France, Yves Rocher has special salons. They have some fabulous sounding treatments. One I really fell in love with was an eyebrow treatment. They put eye patches under your eyes, then while those are on, they shape the eyebrows. After all is done, they apply an eye cream. That's what I'd love right now, and I suppose I could copy it at home with what I already have.
    • It feels like it has been January for a long time, but we're only halfway through the month. There's still time to do a lot of things this month!  I have some empties! I finished my three DHC foil packets, the two mini micellar waters from my Yves Rocher Advent Calendar, and my Neutrogena Shampoo mini.  Now using up: June Jacobs Green Tea and Cucumber Shampoo mini Freeman Cucumber and Pink Salt Masque packet MAC Strobe Cream mini in Pinklite - This is a really nice cream that has a bit of pink color corrector and a bit of luminosity. It's great for a no makeup routine! Very pretty, and feels wonderful on the skin. I got it in an Ipsy bag.  I had the Freeman cucumber masque in my project use it up in January 2018. Now I have another one to use. There is a lot of product in the packet. It is enough for several weeks of use. But it is a clay masque, so it gets dry and messy in the packet. I recall having a hard time using it all up before. So I opened the packet all around the edges, and used a spatula to transfer the contents into an empty jar so it will stay fresh and be easier to use up. I'm looking forward to using it with my new masque brush! I will be having some fun masque and movie nights!
    • The best concert I have ever attended was by Bohemia: the Punjabi Rapper. He was in Delhi (Lajpat Nagar) He is my favourite Artist and Rapper. When I saw him for the first time, my soul felt bliss ❤️ All the crowd of fans were going insane about him I can't forget that moment and want to attend more and more of his concerts
