Hello everyone, I'm looking for some tips for my difficult hair.  I have naturally wavy, thick, and frizzy hair.  I can't tell you how much time I spend blow drying and flat ironing my hair because it's insane.  Alright, the whole process takes like 1 1/2 hrs.  My family is aware of my hair situation and they tease me because it takes me so long to get ready.  Lol.  I tell them, well if I had easy to manage hair I'd be ready much sooner!

The reason I spend so much time straightening my hair is because I have yet to find the "magical" product that allows me to show off my natural waves.  In the summer, I put Redken gel (the strongest one is the only one that controls the frizz) in my damp hair and let it air dry and the waves are sooo pretty.  The only issue is that they are crunchy and I'm just over that look.  I want the same waves but softer and more natural looking.  It's winter now so air drying is out of the question.  I wouldn't mind using a diffuser if that would help also.

Does anyone have any products and/or tips they could recommend?  I would love to be able to rock the wavy look without being 1. frizz ball or 2. crunchy.  I feel like I've become an expert on smooth shiny straight hair but now I need to catch up on the wavy look.  Thanks!

Have you tried Miss Jessie's products? You can get two free samples from the website. I would suggest trying Pillow Soft Curls and Curly Pudding. I use both on my sons whose hair is frizzy without some kind of product.

Thank you so much!  I will def try that.  It looks like they're sold out of the pillow soft curls sample but I'll shoot them an email about it.  Have you heard of or tried Bumble & Bumble products?  I've seen some good reviews on it but they don't do samples.

I have the same problem. I had really wavy hair but they never turn out nice. I let them air dry - but they end up frizzy and gross looking!!  I just have no clue what to do with them!!

I got some samples from Miss Jessie's but haven't tried them yet. They are pretty nice samples & I don't have anything to put it in once I open the packet!

I also would love to try Bumble & Bumble - let me know if you try them!

Also Lush has a Sea Spray (much more affordable) and I kinda wanna try that. Also Not Your Mother's has a sea salt spray as well which I'm thinking about picking up. I tried their Curl Defining cream and it helped some but they still aren't even close to looking good lol.

All the sea sprays I've tried leave my hair frizzy. I'd look to trying cream based styling products to give hold and shape.

My hair has just recently become wavy, it used to be mostly straight. It blow dries with a round brush nicely and maybe 1 out of a million times it will air dry so beautifully in to perfect waves with no frizz. The rest of the time it looks awful....I also need to try Miss Jessie's stuff. I have Lush's sea spray and I do like it but it dries your hair out (like most sea sprays) and sometimes it doesn't do anything at all. The smell is really strong, too. It's not bad (orange flower I think?) but I know some people don't like heavily scented products. It is also a really good volumizing spray on dry hair.

I've been using the DevaCurl line for years and they're the only products that have ever worked perfectly with my curls/waves.  However, I wouldn't suggest that you just go out & pick the products yourself.  I'd recommend that you find a hairstylist who specializes in cutting curly/wavy hair.  I tried using DevaCurl stuff on my own & HATED it b/c it turns out I was using everything completely wrong.  But yeah, finding a specialist hairdresser will probably be your best bet rather than testing out a million different products.
