cosmetic packaging

I've heard of this new craze of 'depotting' makeup. Do people not care once bought the product what happens to the packaging? What happens to the makeup if not in use? Wouldnt the cosmetics break?

Sometimes when depotting I do break the items, but usually it works out well. Its nice to have everything in one palette.

it depends on the product, I depotted my wet n wild eye shadows cuz they were taking up a lot of room and I really don't care about their packaging, they're cheap, also if you're careful the make up won't break

I'm not not it. I just buy palettes not alot of individual eyeshadows.
