Depotting without hurting the pots

I've been reading all the great ideas everyone on MUT has for depotting eyeshadows.  However, they all seem to ruin the pots (plastic in hot ovens, against hot candles, etc.).  My situation is a little different:  I have 6 OLD (over 10 years at this point) Body Shop eyeshadows that I have never used and am never going to use.  I want to get the eyeshadow out, but re-use the little pots for some mineral cosmetics that are currently stored in baggies.  Does anyone know how to get the eyeshadow out without damaging the container?

Hair dryer. You can control the heat better with a hair dryer which in turn will help prevent melting of the plastic container.
