Sophia, MAC mixing medium does a huge difference with pigments and some eyeshadows (for example Manhattan e/s) : it makes the color deeper and stronger. And the pigments last longer.

I've heard that you can do your own mixing medium but I've not tried this method

I find the mixing medium quite expensive, but the result is nice
