Does hype make you buy?

I think that's two different things. Hype to me is when everyone is giving raving good reviews and not only that but many of the reviews say things like, "You must have this!" without really even giving a reason why, or saying what's so good about it. Reviews to me tell the good and bad and you decide that for yourself the good outweighs the bad, or the bad may not even apply to you. Like if all the women with oily skin love a foundation and the ones with dry skin don't, I might buy it, because the bad reviews don't apply...I have oily skin.
