First, use a perfumed lotion after you shower. Then, spray the perfume over your entire body, starting at your feet and moving up towards your head. Next, spritz the scent onto your pulse points, such as the back of your knees, on your wrists and chest, and behind your ears.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>Fragrance Stains My Clothes</TD><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>"Usually fragrance will not stain clothing," says Lisa Debiak, Group Marketing Director for Guerlain. Stick with a vaporizer to apply your fragrance. The fine mist will not leave any marks on your clothing.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ccffcc>Fragrance Stains My Skin</TD><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ccffcc>"Normally, fragrance doesn't stain skin," says Lisa Debiak, Group Marketing Director for Guerlain. "You could get a rash from an allergic reaction to the ingredients." To decrease your chances of having a reaction, try using a fragrance with more natural ingredients than synthetic ones.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>How Long Should a Fragrance Last in the Bottle?</TD><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>"If a fragrance is kept tightly closed and away from sunlight and heat, it should last a few years," says Annette Green, President of the Fragrance Foundation. Light and air can cause a fragrance to evaporate or change in smell. A good tip to follow: If your fragrance is turning darker, it's probably time to get a new one.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ccffcc>Mix Single Notes</TD><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ccffcc>"Just like cooking, we all pretty much agree that certain ingredients go well together. The same principle is applied to fragrance," says Lisa Debiak, Group Marketing Director for Guerlain. Some ingredients may overpower others. If you want to be safe, use one ingredient that seems to go well with almost anything: vanilla.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>Signature Fragrance was Discontinued</TD><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>"Unfortunately, it's almost impossible to match a scent exactly," says Annette Green, President of the Fragrance Foundation. But don't fret. You can find a fragrance in the same family, such as citrus, flowery, or woodsy. Annette also suggests going to a custom blender, who can match your favorite perfume as closely as possible.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ccffcc>Smells Different on Me Than in the Bottle</TD><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ccffcc>"Every person has their own 'smell print'," says Annette Green, President of the Fragrance Foundation. "Perspiration, diet, and medication can all affect how a scent reacts with the skin." To be sure of how a perfume will smell, it should be tested on the actual perfume wearer.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>Where Should I Apply Fragrance?</TD><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>"Fragrance should be applied like makeup," says Annette Green, President of the Fragrance Foundation. "First, you need a foundation, then come the extras."Follow Annette's two-step perfume program for a long-lasting scent:

[*]Spray or smooth perfume over your body when you're nude. (Because fragrance rises, start from your feet and move up towards your head.)

[*]Apply the fragrance to your pulse points, such as behind your knees, inside of your wrists, on your chest, and behind your ears.

Annette's storage suggestion: Place fragrance in a tightly-closed box away in a drawer. Never put it in the bathroom. It's too humid.</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>Which Lasts Longer -- Perfume or Eau de Toilette?</TD><TD vAlign=top align=left bgColor=#ffffff>"Perfume has a higher fragrance concentration, about 15-30%, which makes it more intense so it lasts longer," explains Lisa Debiak, Group Marketing Director for Guerlain. Eau de parfum, which has a concentration of 8-15%, and eau de toilette, which has about 4-8% of fragrance essence, contain more alcohol, which is why they smell lighter than a perfume.</TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>
