So one of my goals for 2016 is to finally start using makeup on a regular basis, and I'm pretty much a complete beginner.
A couple of weeks ago I went to Sephora with a friend to buy some essentials for an everyday look, so I bought:
-Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation
-Urban Decay Naked 2 eyeshadow palette
-Kat Von D magick shade lipstick
-Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture 01
I already owned one pencil eyeliner, one liquid eyeliner, and one mascara from Urban Decay which I hadn't actually used.
I started watching a bunch of beauty gurus on Youtube or tutorials on natural makeup or everyday makeup for work, and I realized I was missing a bunch of tools and supplies, so yesterday I spent hours looking up stuff to buy on the Sephora site and I went on a MASSIVE SPLURGE.
I bought:
-Cover FX Liquid Foundation Brush
-Bobbi Brown Blush Brush
-NARS Contour Brush
-Cinema Secrets Makeup Brush Cleaner
-YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch (Luminous Vanilla)
-YSL Volupte Sheer Candy lipstick (Tasty Raspberry)
-YSL Volupte Sheer Candy lipstick (Lush Coconut)
-YSL Rouge Volupte - Passion Peach
-YSL Rouge Volupte - Rose Asarine
-Free samples: Clarins Facial Lift Total V Contouring Serum, Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, Smashbox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer, Nudestix Intense Matte Lip + Cheek Pencil deluxe in Stiletto/GWP
From the NARS site I bought:
-Illuminator - Hot Sand
-Radiant Creamy Concealer - Custard
-Velvet Matte Lip Pencil - Cruella
From the Urban Decay site I got:
-Complexion Primer Potion - Brightening
-Free sample: Perversion Mascara deluxe sample
From Kate Somerville:
-Dilo Oil Restorative Treatment
-Free samples: Eradikate To-Go, Nourish Daily Moisturizer, True Lash Lash Enhancing Eye Makeup Remover, sample of the doli oil
YEAH.
Let's just say I won't be buying any new makeup for a looooooooooooooong time. So what do you guys think? Were these good choices for everyday looks? Am I pretty much set for everything I need for a long time? Am I missing any "essentials"? By essentials I mean stuff that everyone seems to need like foundation, primer, etc.
